On the Goodreads page for my most recent book, the book intro blurb does not appear. Blurbs appear for all my other books but not this latest one. Why could that be? The blurb appears on Amazon (this is a KDP paperback) but not on Goodreads.

Martin I don't know the reason but there shouldn't be any problem if you want to add it.

Hello Martin:
You suggest to "add it" but I cannot find out how to do that. There is no "edit" link on the Miyako Redux Goodreads page. Can you explain to me how a Goodreads Author like myself, can edit the text of one of their books?

I read online that in order to have the explanatory text (blurb) of my book inserted in its Goodreads webpage by the Librarians, I need to post the requested blurb here to this Librarians' Group, so here it is:

Following text is from Amazon site: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0G...

------------------

Miyako Redux is the second book in the Glow Trilogy, following Proxima’s Gift, both of which take place in Japan several hundred years in the future after an apocalyptic event has killed most of the global population. In the first book we met the Children of Proxima, a community of people who have developed a new organ in the bodies that gives them the true sense of empathy, a gift they call the Glow. They live in utopian hamlets known as Hahanokuni, the Motherland. The story, which takes place over the course of a single year, focuses on a young woman named Azami who is struggling to control her overly powerful glow.

In Miyako Redux, the scene shifts to Miyako, a large town populated by Dims—surviving humans who have not developed the glow. The story, which takes place over the course of a single month, is a complex tale involving multiple people’s storylines that weave together over the course of the book. There is a community of creative artisans who have developed a collective social network in the east of Miyako, led by the kindly grandfather-figure, Noah. Goro, a savage warlord and his people who occupy the ancient castle of the town and rule their surroundings by force. The Medusaites, a cult of impoverished newcomers who worship the creature in the Tower of Light as a mystical deity, led by the charismatic monk, Keizen. And of course, Azami and Choki who make their way from Hahanokuni to Miyako to seek out the Whitewoman who was responsible for both of their mothers’ disappearance, only to get caught up in the power machinations taking place there. Over the course of the story, all of these people get inexorably drawn to the Tower of Light, which lies at the heart of each of their destinies.

I have gone ahead and updated the description since you are writing from a non-Goodreads Author account.

For your reference, your Goodreads Author account would have been created with a different email address than the Goodreads account you're writing from now.

Thank you Emily.

I am a little confused about the two accounts but I am assuming that the one associated with the books@ email is my Goodreads User account and the one associated with the mpk1119@ email is my Author's account. And, I need to be signed in through my Author's account to edit pages. Do you think I have the right now?

Both accounts, however, seem to show the same list of books associated with my name, and this Goodreads Librarians Group message thread also seems to appear on both account in the same way. Is that how things are supposed to work?

Martin That is now your author account and you can edit from there. Sorry I didn't spot that you were signed in on a different account before.
I don't know why there are two accounts, did you open them at different times? If you don't want them both you could close the non-author account, or just let it lie fallow.

I began by signing up for a Goodreads account as a regular user to research about books I might be interested in reading. Only later did I realize that authors could apply for an "author's account" and I signed up for that separately with a different email address.

I could close the User account, but some of my books are published through KDP, and my Amazon account appears to be linked to my User account, not my Author's account. So if I close the User account, I am afraid I will mess things up with my connection to Amazon and KDP.

Is it possible to somehow switch the Goodreads—Amazon connection from the User account to the Author's account without losing all my previous connections?
