The sequel from Quneenie's pov is just as wonderful. Also I just saw this movie and it was quite moving as well.
I read this one ages ago - I have meant to continue with the other POV’s. I always get distracted. Great review, Lori. A perfect book for this time of year.
I remember liking this story because I liked Harold. I agree that you just have to let go of the unlikelihood and go with the journey. Glad you enjoyed it, Lori.
Oh, I’m glad you enjoyed Harold’s pilgrimage. I read this years ago and recall rooting for Harold and hoping he’d make it in time to see Queeny.
Having recently retired and struggling to find my purpose (other than reading like it’s my job! 😂) this sounds like just the ticket for me!
I am a big fan of this novel. It really evoked some serious emotion and catharsis for me. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and, for what it's worth, I finished WINTER SOLSTICE tonight, and I can't hardly recommend a more heartwarming winter story right now. It is just downright uplifting.
I love this entire series, Lori! Of the three books, Queenie’s story is my favorite. Terrific review!!

A movie! Ok now to find it. And I am glad to know the next book is worth it.

Two more books! I only knew of one. Thanks Angela!

Thank Lorna. It was rather hard not to like Harold. Even Maureen came around for me!

I hear you about distractions, Antionette! So easy for me too. This was a perfect read for the busyness of this season.

Yeah, I just had to tell myself to let the story flow and not get hung up on the details and what I thought he ought to do. Then there wouldn't be a book! Ha!

Even though it seemed strange and of course, unlikely, it wormed it's way into my heart!

Oh, yes!! You'd really connect with this one. Another one I just finished that fits your stage of life is What You Are Looking For Is in the Library. It's a fun Japanese lit book of stories of people who are all searching for their purpose in life. One of the stories was a recent retiree!! Highly recommend that one.

Yay, Julie! Isn't that just wonderful! I'm so glad you found exactly what you needed in these two books. I love how reading does that for us!

Well, now I suppose I must read her story. Thanks Terrie!
Fab review, Lori.
It's true. This gentle, bittersweet tale catches the reader unawares and draws them in.
