Holden Wunders I am feeling this way too. I keep trying and trying but I’m just not into it.

Ah, that’s not fun. I wish I’d enjoyed it more, because the world-building ideas were so cool! I’m curious about what they’ll write in the future and if those future books will be easier to get into.

Fairuz ᥫ᭡. Ahh, I totally get what you mean! 😔 The world-building was there, but the insta-love and rushed plot just ruined it for me too. So disappointing when a book has so much potential but doesn't deliver! 😩

Yes, totally agree! I’d say more but you literally summed it up perfectly in your review 😆 Hopefully the author’s next book will have a little more depth to it, because there’s no shortage of creativity.

julia regina The 3/4 part is so real, I actually had to force myself to keep reading the book.

Right?! Did you notice what the change was at that point? I can’t remember if the exhaustion of reading it just caught up with me at that point, or if something actually changed in the writing around that point. Sorry it didn’t work for you!

Luna Alva Ugh, I am halfway through this book and I'm fighting my urge to DNF it. I don't want to because I try not to do that, but the romance is making me cringe so hard, I can barely stand it. It's such a shame, because just like many people here, I find the premise and world-building fascinating! I write Japanese-influenced fantasy too, so I had very high hopes getting into Water Moon.
