Glad to know to stay away from this one! Did you read Imani Perry's biography of her?
I have not but I would like to, especially after reading this one. Shields’ book is quite comprehensive but he really doesn’t have a deep understanding his subject. I’m sure Imani Perry’s book is a much better representation of Hansberry.
Perry's book is lovely but more of an exploration and musings than a solid biography.
Got a problem with me not being black, Lillian? Or that Lorraine was a slumlord?
