1059?! Wow! Must be one of Heinlein's earliest works. ;P
Sanity is a function of culture, too. I'm convinced that a lot of the stranger later works are a function of writing for the 70's crowd. Remember Stranger in a Strange Land? He gained a HUGE fanbase that wasn't quite in line with his natural proclivities. (You know, of Jubal Hershaw.) :)
Almost all of his core values are maintained, however. :)

No, bur pretty early for his "adult" novels. First novel was in 1940,

" "If This Goes On —" aka "Revolt in 2100", which I read in an Ace Double, well, longer ago than I'd like to think .... 🚀🚀℥
Well, I thought so, But http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/images/0/01... reveals, well, some early art-recycling!
I’ve hheard that the book is more serious.
I heard that they might do a new reboot movie that takes a grittier tone so it will be more accurate to the book.
It's not so much serious as it is earnest. And it isn't THAT gritty. There's heart in it.
Honestly? I hope they don't make a reboot. The satire is great and the original book is great, but turning it into a grimdark sounds... horrible.
Where's the gentle prodding toward duty and doing the right thing when we're over-splattered in gore?
