An unusually endearing look at AI, featuring a woman in charge of fostering juvenile AI entities, more colloquially known (at least to that woman) as "baby bots." Their current space mission becomes an attempted rescue of a bot who has exceeded safe limits for its kind. I'm not sure of the outer boundaries of "cozy" SF, but I think this book belongs there.
