I think fans of Kristin Hannah, especially new ones, need a warning to not read any of her books from before 2008. Another one as terrible as this one was Magic Hour. It’s like Kristin had no idea how people actually talk to each other and she had an obsession with making comments about autistic people. What was the line “I’m like an autistic with a puzzle …” even about?!?!?
I am about to give up on this - but will stick with it, thanks to your review.
My local book group has just chosen The Great Alone for next month, and after reading The Four Winds and The Women, I have mixed feelings. Her tendency to pile one disaster on another...
