I didn't like McCaleb, either.
I will go read McCaleb #1, but I do wish there was a little more cohesiveness with the overlapping characters and series.
I had just finished the first Terry McCaleb book when I picked this up and agree--so totally disliked McCaleb in this book. He was just running around making assumptions trying to make Harry guilty. Huge Harry fan and now not so much a McCaleb fan--he came off as desperately trying to make himself relevant again.
