Great review. I agree with the drug policy argument of the book, but this is not new, it's harm reduction. The problem of using drugs when a person has a mental illness is huge. Especially because no one knows how many people using substances also have mental illness. How many of the people who relapse after rehabilitation have undiagnosed mental illness?
Isn't it the same with alcohol? People with mental illness should also not be drinking? So, why isn't that legislated?
You're right. How about we let the government just make everyone's decisions about what to do with their lives and how to spend their money for them. People are very irresponsible, after all.
