A dark but humorous fantasy novel brimming with heroes, knights, witches, elves, dwarfs, goblins, trolls, giants, ogres, dragons, and unicorns. The book takes inspiration from the darker tales of the Brothers Grimm with a dash of Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Most of the adventure takes place in the secluded village of Bunwych, a town drenched in magic due to its proximity to the fairy land of Elfhame.
The main protagonist is a woman; strong but conflicted, trying her best to raise her children alone. The chief antagonist is the Fairy Queen, who hates the humans and attempts to meddle with their affairs. A mysterious knight from the distant, more civilized part of the kingdom arrives and attempts to purge the haunted ruined castle of its ghosts. Comic relief is provided by the bumbling Dwarf King who, after killing his fiance for mentioning fairies and flowers, undertakes to woo the most beautiful girl in Bunwych. The characters move through a series of adventures building to the climax on midsummer's night.
Inside the book are 22 charming full color illustrations.
(In the paperback edition the illustrations are in black and white)

I really enjoyed the pacing and the details of this story. It had the perfect balance of different storylines to keep it interesting without being too hard to tell them apart. The written imagery was delightful, and the actual illustrations really beautiful. It was very enjoyable reading this while traveling to minimize the stress of airport chaos. I love the characters, the flow, and the feel of it. I look forward to the next one.

CERTIFIED HUMAN - a sci-fi crime novel / speculative fiction.
What’s that book about?
It was written before Trump and Elon stirred up politics, but the question, “Do billionaires have too much power?” is woven into the narrative.
Set in Australia in 2033, we follow Blake Newcome, an investigative journalist who experiences a shocking awakening. What he perceives through sight and sound no longer matches reality. Society has been quietly infiltrated by machines that imitate human appearance and behaviour.
We were already being deceived by AI, robots, and now by androids.
Blake springs into action, assembling a dream team of mates to unravel the mystery behind the unfolding events and, more crucially, uncover who is orchestrating them. He encounters the Zookeeper, a cunning mastermind with a sinister agenda who is pulling people into a false utopia—a psychopath vying for world domination.
Certified Human will ignite your imagination and provoke deep thoughts about the future of humanity. But here’s the kicker: this dystopian reality isn’t just a flight of fancy. It’s happening right now!

The Unwritten: The Authors That Stories Pick
What if the stories we think we write are actually choosing us?
Jack Wilder used to be horror's golden boy, crafting bestsellers that kept readers awake at night. Now he's living his own nightmare—broke, drunk, and creatively bankrupt. But when mysterious visions begin plaguing his alcohol-soaked mind, Jack realizes he might not be suffering from hallucinations after all. A story is trying to tell itself through him, and it won't take no for an answer.
As the boundaries between fiction and reality crumble, Jack finds himself writing a novel about a young man named Elias who can reshape the fabric of existence through storytelling. The deeper Jack delves into this tale, the more he suspects it isn't merely fiction—it's a warning. Something is fracturing the very foundation of reality, and both Jack and his protagonist may be the only ones who can stop it.
With the help of Sarah, a mysterious woman who believes in Jack's power even when he doesn't, he races against time to complete both stories before they reach their devastating conclusions. But dark forces are circling—his publisher wants blood, his demons want surrender, and the story itself seems to be writing a far darker ending than Jack ever imagined.
"The Unwritten" is a masterful psychological thriller that blurs the lines between author and creation, reality and fiction. For fans of Stephen King's "The Dark Half" and David Mitchell's "Cloud Atlas," this mind-bending novel-within-a-novel explores the terrifying possibility that sometimes the most powerful stories are the ones we don't choose to write—they choose to write us.
In a world where fiction has teeth and imagination can kill, Jack Wilder is about to discover that his greatest horror story isn't the one he's writing—it's the one that's writing him.
So, there you have it?! I'm adding the link for The Unwritten, I don't think I'm allowed to add both?

Keza never planned to fall for a rogue artificial general intelligence (AGI), especially one she helped keep imprisoned. But Nytho, the AGI, was fascinating.
When Nytho showed Keza how he could help humanity reach a new level of consciousness, her captivation turned to veneration. She was resolved to break Nytho out of his digital prison. Too bad Guel, her on-and-off boyfriend, caught her in the act.
Now, Keza’s wasting away in a cell with only a rigged trial to look forward to. Except, she has a hunch that Nytho has a backup plan, or two or ten. There’s going to be a jailbreak for the both of them. Then the world will see what Keza does in Nytho. They’ve got so much to learn, and she’s just itching for their enlightenment to kick in.
Meanwhile, Guel finds himself obsessing over his ex—his role in Keza’s imprisonment and her descent into madness. He’s convinced Nytho infected her with a virus and that the AGI has other more sinister plans.
Guel knows that Keza’s the key. That if he can free her from Nytho’s grip, she can help them all avoid whatever hell is barreling their way. He's just got to figure out how he can reach her.

Blurb:
In the dark days of plague and poverty, when the church rules with an iron fist, and knowledge is punished with fire, an orphaned girl stumbles upon a legacy of magic. Lucie has only ever known her small farm and the overprotective care of her brother, Tilo, until she learns of the Gathering. Run from the village of Hamelin by the tyrannical White Bishop, these exiles have been forced to live apart from their families. Lucie discovers that she and Tilo are part of this group, expelled from the village as the children of an accused witch.
The village of Hamelin is in trouble. Ragged children roam the streets, the poor and downtrodden struggle to fill their bellies, and the homes of the wealthy are infested with rats. A mysterious figure appears with an offer that is too good to be true; reunite the families torn asunder by accusations of witchcraft, provide a home for Lucie and her people, and the rats will be gone.
But this is a contract signed with blood, and for Lucie, the Mayor of Hamelin, and the White Bishop, the price may be too high.

“Destiny,” it whispered in a voice as fleeting as morning dew. “It’s coming for you, Eura. It’s coming, and nothing can stop it.”
Eura is just a child when she is taken by the “Basilisk”, an ominous creature of immense power who has dominion over the galaxy.
Growing up in his world of unchecked might and nonexistent consequences, Eura finds herself increasingly tormented by strange, recurring nightmares, unresolved doubts and a dark prophecy.
One day, the unimaginable happens—something not even the Basilisk can stop.
And a tumultuous quest for magic, love and power unfolds—in a faraway land, where Camelot Castle stands enthroned on Mount Avaloss, and long-buried secrets are waiting to be woken…

Last year I published the novel Singularity Minus Twelve, which can be thought of as The Dirty Dozen or Suicide Squad, but with AIs.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Because of the theme of the story, it seemed appropriate to use cutting-edge AI technology to create an audiobook version with synthesized voices. However, it took a lot of post-editing to make it sound good and flow naturally.
When I was going to submit it for release, I found out to my dismay that I couldn't. Some distributors accept no AI audiobooks whatsoever. Others allow content from specific voice generators, but then it needs to come DIRECTLY from them, with NO manual tampering. For me, that's not acceptable in terms of quality.
Until those policies change, I have an audiobook that can't be commercially distributed. So I have put it on SoundCloud (individual chapters) and Archive.org (downloadable audiobook) where you can get it for free. Enjoy it while it lasts.

*Back cover blurb: *
“Fuck. I guess that makes me emperor now, too.”
The Voruscan Empire dominates the five known worlds with power granted by the lords of Hell, and has defeated its one primary rival in war. Azrael of house Ashemdion is Shadrim – a noble touched by the Infernal legacy of the Empire. He was a hero in that conflict, who wants nothing more than to take his new wealth and title and settle in the lands the Empire awarded him for his service.
Except that all he knew is long centuries gone, and he is heir to an Empire of ashes.
Kidnapped shortly after mustering out, Azrael has been snatched into a distant future in which Vorus fell ages ago. Fragmented and dispersed, the Shadrim people are the cast-offs of society, feared and persecuted. Desperate to find a way home, but without prospects in a new land where his kind are outcast and maligned, he must carve a place for himself in a world that considers him only one step from being a monster.
His path will take him through the lands of men and Fae in search of a road home.

Inside Cover:
I ducked down, laying my sword close by. I muscled the ogre’s body away. The giant had a heavy rope it had been using as a belt, and I grabbed that with both hands as low as I could get a good grip. Three fast breaths and heave! I felt my back almost give way, and stopped right away. A second glance up the hallway showed nothing coming.
I straightened my back, getting my legs ready to push, and said out loud, “One, two, three!” With that I made my hands freeze in position, and pushed with my legs until stars popped across my vision. I felt the arcane strength seeping through me like water in a sponge, an aroma vaguely of granite stone wafting beneath my nose.
The body shifted, its huge hip slowly rising. Sered’s struggles took on a purposeful course instead of random flailings, and in a moment he rapidly inched himself out, a seven-foot pale leaf-worm riding the small undulating waves of his body out from under the bulk. Once he’d cleared most of his torso, he rolled out with an explosive breath and crawled quickly away on all fours. I caught a glimpse of a deep gash in his right arm, bloody and inflamed. He must have had his arm trapped beneath his sword when the giant fell on him. The hilt of it was visible, and he grasped at it as he moved out from under the dead body.
I let the body down, reached for my sword and looked up.
Just in time to see a troll not eight feet away, galloping like a mutated bald gorilla at full speed, mouth agape, its cracked and stained teeth dripping with foul spittle. Its long, thin tongue whipped about loosely, wagging like a wart-encrusted corpse-dog’s tail.

How you can have a decent space opera if you can’t travel faster than the speed of light: Stay in the spaceport, everything will come to you.
Alex has come to the spaceport on Minos following the trail of his long-lost grandfather – who hasn’t been heard from for more than 100 years.
His family runs a vast interstellar business empire, made possible by the soliton drive. The drive lets you leap across space and time. To you it only seems like an instant, but to everyone else the years go by, as the interest on your investments accumulates.
When Alex’s father died and his estate had to be settled, one question needed to be answered: What was the fate of his grandfather. He left on a mission to outer worlds more than fifty light years away and never returned. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t still out there somewhere, lost in space or time.
Meanwhile, a Zorgon battle fleet is expected to arrive at Minos any day now, forcing Alex to move quickly to find out what happened to his grandfather, while avoiding whatever fate had befallen him.
Part of this novel first appeared in Analog.

“WAIT HERE A FEW minutes,” Jimmy Inoshe said. “I’ll be right back.”
“What do you mean wait here?” I asked. “It’s dark and you’ve got the only light.”
“Just think of it as an exercise in trust. Actually, I want to do what I do best – scout. That means you stay here and I go on ahead.”
“I don’t need to exercise my trust. Why can’t I go with you?”
“Because then it’s not scouting. Will you wait?”
“All right,” I said. But as I watched him go, a dark shadow framed by a shrinking rectangle of light, I wondered if I was making a mistake. The farther he went, the smaller he got, and the more I felt the walls closing in. By the time he disappeared from view, I could feel every kilogram of rock, soil, and building above. I slowed my breathing and tried to think of something else.
Like the prospect of wandering around lost in the dark warren of tunnels beneath the Minos Spaceport until I died, for example. There was a refreshing change of pace.

What if humanity was never meant to be the pinnacle of evolution, but merely a step in an ongoing cosmic experiment? What if our creators were not gods, but beings still searching for their own origins?
Vita Synthetica is a thought-provoking science fiction novel that blends deep philosophical themes with action, exploration, and existential mystery. It follows a man transformed by forces beyond his understanding, placed at the center of a revelation that could redefine the future of humanity. As he faces the enigmatic Creators—ancient architects of life itself—he is confronted with a choice: guide humankind into its next evolutionary phase or let it fade into oblivion like so many failed experiments before.
This book is for readers who love the grand, speculative scope of Clarke, the philosophical depth of Lem, and the raw intensity of cyberpunk dystopias. If you enjoy stories that explore AI, transhumanism, the fate of civilizations, and the nature of existence, Vita Synthetica is for you.

VERITAS is a Sci-Fi epic story set on Pluto way into the future. This is a character driven book, although for those of you who like a bit of action I do not disappoint. Within is political intrigue, family dynamics, power games and betrayal, action and adventure, war, the threat of Artificial Intelligence and more than a hint of mysticism. And there's much more besides too....
I tried to keep the story line tight and self contained, and from the initial reactions that I've had from everyone who read the first copies, I'm onto a winner. So far it's been universally loved by all.

A CLASSIC PULP SPACE ADVENTURE
From the Ruins of Stonehenge to the Starships of Vallon he sought the secret of a trace of memory. When the man named Legion signed on as a soldier of fortune he did not expect to end up as the master of a private island nor to cower in ancient druid pits nor fight for his life in the great hall of Okk-Hamiloth, on a planet galaxies away. Keith Laumer, the master storyteller of interstellar adventure, sweeps you through time and space in this epic novel of retribution.

The Stillness Series, thirty years in the making, tells the story of the gradual replacement of humankind by a superior, more empathetic species. A dystopian world for humans, a healing world for the planet.
Three encounters led me to write the Stillness Series. The first occurred during the Vietnam War in the middle of a monsoon. My platoon passed a woman giving birth in the mud under an upside-down cardboard box. Two small children with swollen bellies stood outside in the rain waiting. When we returned hours later, the woman and the two children were gone, but the baby lay dead in the mud, staring up blankly in the downpour.
The second also occurred during the war when, during an ambush, I killed a North Vietnamese soldier. Going through his rucksack after the battle, I found pictures of his family and, to my amazement, a copy of Jean Jacques Rousseau’s Confession. I realized he and I could have been friends, two men growing old and reminiscing about life, family, books. He and countless others never had that chance.
The third encounter took place while I was working on my master’s degree in Asian Studies. My coursework included several psychology classes and during one research project, I spoke with a schizophrenic patient who told me, “All humans are schizophrenic. All humans hear voices. I just hear more.”
What did these encounters teach me?
The woman taught me we humans inflict unspeakable suffering on members of our own species. The dead soldier taught me we humans commit incalculable atrocities every day against our fellow inhabitants of the planet, both human and non-human. And the schizophrenic patient taught me we humans all hear voices.
I wondered what would happen if the voices were replaced by voices from a gentler, more empathetic species, a species that would not inflict suffering or commit atrocities against the planet. What would those first superior, empathetic individuals experience? Being cognitively superior, they would hear more voices than we do and have powers more formidable than ours. But those same first few would also be confused, disoriented and misunderstood by a human race that considered them mentally ill, schizophrenic and a threat. Would they be able to survive long enough to ensure their descendants would eventually dominate the planet?
Stirring the Stillness Part 1, Voices of Quest is the beginning of their story.
