John Sauer I'm pleased to announce that The Divided Man Book One goes live on Amazon Kindle tomorrow November 18, 2022. The paperback version is currently available and the Kindle Unlimited version will be free.

The Divided Man Book One is a Native American fantasy based on the Ghost Dance. It's a journey back in time and across the realms of man and gods.

https://www.amazon.com/Divided-Man-Bo...

Here's the story: The Wounded Knee Massacre was to be the end of the Lakota, but it was only the beginning. More than 100 years later the prayer of the ghost Dance has been answered in apocalyptic fury. Most of humanity is dead and every god ever known to man has returned.

Out of the ruins, two are called. One to save the Tree of Life. One to drag it to darkness. Stripped of his soul by the elk-headed god Manitou, Luke Kimball is on a spirit quest that binds his fate to the Tree and the dark intent of the Wendigo. In a land where the roles of god and man have no clear boundaries, time is fluid, and the tragedies of his past await his return, Luke will have to kill a god to succeed. Or become one.

Please let me know if you like it!

James I would like to introduce a novel published this month.

I wrote a science fiction entitle SUPERMAN FROM EARTH. I revised it and got it translated by native English speakers. It was published this month in kdp amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLV1KSFN

As the novel is quite long, I also published SUPERMAN FROM EARTH, VOLUME 1
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMY356YH
The synopsis for VOLUME 1 is given at the beginning of ‘LOOK INSIDE’. Readers can read the synopsis for free. If they like it, they can stop anywhere and go to the main text.

Here is the blurb. Hope you like it.

If you had the power to shape a new Earth, how would you use it?
After six industrial revolutions, human life expectancy reaches nearly 400 years. In a free-for-all society, we genuinely love one another.
The year is 2422, and humans have reached beyond their solar system for the first time. To their amazement, they find an Earth-like planet called Nearth with human-like inhabitants called numans. Determined to not use their superior technology to interfere, the crew conducts research and observes the politics and customs of Nearth.
But when numan's mortal enemies, dwarfs, threaten to overwhelm the numan capital, the crew must decide if or how to intervene. Complicating their decision are personal relationships with numans crewmembers formed while undercover, the promise of rich mineral deposits under Nearth's oceans, and strange cave drawings which may unlock the mysteries of creation.
Time is running out, and their next steps may determine the future of Nearth and that of the entire universe.

Leon Stevens For one week, The View from Here will be $0.99 (US/UK markets) and discounted 40% in some others (CND/AUS)

What would you do if you found yourself on or in another world? Do you have the skills and knowledge needed to survive or to make sense of what you see?

Thomas sets out on a hike he has done many times before. Taking only what he needs for the three or four hours he expects to be gone, he passes a vehicle in the parking lot. The handwritten note on the dashboard read: Not Abandoned. The view at the end of the trail was not what he expected—neither were the friendships.

Two people with adventurous spirits, heading off into the unknown with only their physical fitness and combined knowledge to get them through everything they may encounter.

The View from Here can be read as a stand-alone book, but also as the first book of the trilogy.

E.K. Frances Dark fantasy dystopian ... The Hybrid is on sale! Now only 99 cents. Also available on Kindle Unlimited.

Described by one reader as 'Harry Potter on Steroids,' The Hybrid tells the story of Sebastian Parker, a teenager with powers (an alpha), who is full of Light but forced to join the Dark. To complicate matters, it turns out that Sebastian will grow up to be the most powerful alpha of all time. This makes him a target, and his enemies are not shy about moving in on him.

The first book in the series is about Sebastian’s struggle to fit in at the Academy, with both the Dark alphas he’s placed with and the Light alphas that he wants to be a part of. It's a story of friendship, betrayal, and brutality; the fight between good and evil where no one can quite work out who is good and who is evil. And it's Sebastian's journey … whether he will embrace the Dark or keep to the Light when faced with a fight for his own survival.

Lian Skaf Check out my sci-fi, courtroom drama “The ALPHA Trial”

Here is the link:

https://www.amazon.com/ALPHA-Trial-Li...

Here is the summary:

Andy Hartley is a solo attorney working on the wrong side of the Hudson River and he has his moral high ground to thank for it. The past few decades have been very lucrative for big law firms in major markets like New York City, raking in “med mole” money from one of history’s most catastrophic medical failures. Of course, Andy resisted the lure, opting to avoid the muck in exchange for meager returns. Due in part to his clean hands, Andy now has the chance to litigate the fallout of the controversial “Unlock” procedure with the highest stakes imaginable: his client’s life. Pushed through Congress and rubber stamped by the FDA, Unlock was a groundbreaking medical innovation that raised unfathomable abilities from brain cells that had previously laid dormant. Unlocked patients, referred to by many as “moles” for their propensity to meet in society’s shadows, accessed senses humans never could before and harnessed new propensities to overcome natural, human limits. It wasn’t long before the Unlocks went wrong as moles channeled their increasing paranoia into violence. Eventually, society fought back with the “Affirmation of Liberty and Protection of Humanity Act,” or ALPHA. A law written with the purpose of eradicating the unintended consequences of Unlock, ALPHA did what it promised, eliminating all moles. It wasn’t until years later that Jordan Semanter reappeared. Once just the fourth son of polarizing Congresswoman and champion of the Unlock movement Elizabeth Semanter, Jordan now has his own notorious identity. He is the last known living mole. The trial of Jordan Semanter takes society back to a time it was happy to forget and it’s Andy’s job to make the world remember. Andy has only himself and his hodgepodge legal team to take on Deputy U.S. Attorney Frank Guild – a former soldier and amputee survivor of the largest mole attack - and prove to twelve jurors that Jordan is more than a mole. Andy must prove that Jordan is human.

Don Vodka It's only common sense to open big. As for a cliffhanger or a hook at the end to get readers to buy the next book in a series, I don't do that. It's kind of frowned upon somewhat. All my books, even though in a series, are stand-alones.

Having said that, I enjoy breaking the 'unwritten rules' of fiction. And I do it all the time.

My book New Trails 1st in a series, is a portal fantasy.

You can download the first five chapters at my website for free -- https://trail-talk.com/. This is Troy's story, a tale of an epic journey across a threshold into a world of mystery and magic, where he must do what he has never done before – trust. Before it's too late.

And feel free to check out an excerpt from New Trails, too (Meeting the Tree of Deception), at my website -- https://trail-talk.com/new-trails-ser...

The book also made finalist in the New Mexico/Arizona Book Awards, and here's a recent testimonial: “I don’t usually read fantasy, but I enjoyed yours very much. It was a crackin’ good story. Good writing and interesting characters. Great concept.“

Art Isaacs Hi All,

Hopefully this is the right place and crowd to ask, but besides a sci-fi trilogy that I'm currently working on, I have an unrelated short story I just finished. It's still under editing and will need cover art, but I was wondering about the best way to go about publishing it.
I think it may be too short to be considered a novella, at only about 38-40 paperback size pages, including title pages. Does anyone have experience publishing something similar?
Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yasin Basaran Introducing the new sci-fi e-book 'Skybound Chronicles': A thrilling VRMMORPG adventure.
I am excited to introduce my new e-book, 'Skybound Chronicles', a science fiction novel set in a virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game (VRMMORPG) called Ouroboros Online. The story follows a group of players as they navigate the game's complex world and uncover its mysterious secrets.

The book is filled with action, adventure, and a dose of mystery, as the characters battle against other players, non-player characters, and the game's own rules. It explores the idea of what happens when the line between the virtual and the real world becomes blurred, and the lengths to which one would go to stay in the game.

If you're a fan of VRMMORPGs, science fiction, and fast-paced storytelling, then 'Skybound Chronicles' is the book for you! I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Let me know what you think of the book, and happy reading.

Archie As a long time reader of science fiction and other things, I caved into the voices in my head to write.
Book one, Mountain Gods is a mix of science, speculative, and historical fiction. Enough science to satisfy the scifi crowd and enough historical to satisfy the history buffs.
Then I veered off to space travel and the Egress of Humanity. What technology or multiple technologies could allow humans to reach the stars. Thus, when a high school senior discovers he can turn off gravity, the human time line diverges to what might be if we can control gravity. Book one in the series - AntiGravity is out and book three, Mission Beta, will be available first quarter of 2023.

As a Indie author, I appreciate your time and hopefully my books are worth reading. Enjoy!

Max Mason An alien killer's opinion of Human cunning...

"The Humans were very accomplished assassins, far more devious opponents than their Tark allies, who were dangerous, but stupid, or their Jadden ones, who were well organized and disciplined, but lacked inventiveness. Tarks killed each other with such regularity that assassination was unnecessary, and the Jadden were so lacking in personal political ambition that very few of their leaders had ever suffered the fate. The Humans, however, had a history littered with just about every assassination method imaginable; stabbings, beatings, bombings, poisonings, strangulations, drownings, suffocation, point-blank, short-range, or long-range projectile strikes, be they employing a single-shot weapon up close, or via remote, guided munitions from a distance, incineration from focused ion beam weapons, and other various methods, against a wide range of targets; government, planetary, nation-state, and local leaders, political opponents, religious figures, the heads of major economic consortiums, and potential rivals, including siblings. And though they did not possess the same physical prowess or ferocity of the honored Lhorchetti, from Sardax’s point of view, they were just as dangerous. And that, was a large part of the second issue."

What is Sardax's "second issue"? Read "NOVASTROM: Adventures form the Zrax Wars" to find out. Available in hardcover and e-book on Amazon

"D.W. Goates created a complex storyline with interesting personalities." [...] "I would recommend A Southern Fried Fantasy Adventure Story to anyone who enjoys fantasy books with a lot of travel, interesting characters, and unpredictable twists." --Stephanie Chapman for Readers' Favorite

"D.W. Goates puts the fun in fantasy in this high-adventure tale..." [...] "Once you start reading the first page, you’ll not want to stop." --Vincent Dublado for Readers' Favorite

Back cover teaser:

In an empire that never was, in a land strangely familiar, a young bounty hunting swordsman meets a curious elf maid. She’s on a pilgrimage, while he only seeks adventure, yet they team up when they happen to discover the seeds of a sinister plot. An evil prince whose house has seethed for centuries against the crown has finally decided to disturb the peace.

Noble Galan, the tall handsome swordsman, and Ivy, a slip of an elf, will rise to the occasion. But will they be enough against the prince’s many allies? Thick as thieves, his sorcerers, spies, and fixers abound. Yet the empress has supporters of her own, among them a man of certain skills named Birk. Hey! Wasn’t that rogue working for the prince? And Eloise—you’ve heard of her, haven’t you? She’s only the second most powerful woman in the entire land—an action duchess who’ll never take “no” for an answer.

Add to the mix a fuzzy little vixen, and the recipe is complete—for an adventure so great and a bite so big, that even mighty Galan might not be able to chew it!

A Southern Fried Fantasy Adventure Story is a low fantasy, light novel-style book in a larger “heavy novel” package. Inspired by old pulp fantasies such as those published during the 1980s, as well as older anime adventures like Hajime Kanzaka’s Slayers, the work is supposed to be just as unserious as it isn’t. Intended as pure escapist fun, the story’s focus is always on the characters—the strong plot often necessarily overshadowed by all their little adventures along the way.

In Book One, Belenus Rising, a bitter, resentful minor noble, Belenus Wardyne, with no inherited powers to control the Chyrons, craves power and revenge on his detractors, the Veleta. He discovers a relic, The Heart of Sulyan, that he believes gives him the powers he lacks, including immortality if he is killed. He destroys many of the Veleta in cruel ways and rules as a violent dictator, setting up an alternative cult - The Cult of Sulyan - which inadvertently gives power to the Chyrons rather than calming them. Disasters begin to increase and hasten a return to the end of the world and chaos. Belenus’ son, Drystyn and his contemporaries oppose Belenus and after meeting with some surviving Veleta, find that the power of the relic will eventually bring their civilisation to a catastrophic end unless it, and anyone who partakes of it (eats some), are properly destroyed. The search for the means of doing this, the successes and failures of all who oppose Belenus and his responses, form the substance of this book and others in the series.
I hope you enjoy reading it.
