I thought the same thing when I listened . That irked me to hear, especially early on in the book. Thanks for naming it here.
You are absolutely right! Women's work need to be valued especially the author was a medical school student
Franklin’s data proved DNA was helical, but Watson and Crick used the data to nail down the full double-helix structure. So it's a bit of a distortion to say that Franklin discovered the structure. By the time Watson and Crick got the Nobel Prize, Franklin had died, and they don't award the Nobel Prize posthumously.
