What I learned though was that nothing comes without a cost. And the price that it cost me is eating at me day by day. I should have known he would not just let me walk away. I had to leave the most important thing behind and I need to take it back.
I have a talent with words, you see. I keep them locked away to use when I see fit. I thought I could use it to establish a new life, but fate flashed me its bittersweet smile.
I didn’t choose to get caught up in a Bratva case – didn’t choose to cross paths with him. A dangerous man from the other side, a side I should stay away from at all costs.

I was fine with this life, and I especially liked when things went exactly according to plan. But then she came along. Butting in all over my business, making this job a mess to put it mildly.
