I just started reading this series late last year and I'm on book 9 or 10 now! All of your criticisms are on point but I've found them to be an entertaining read when I need a palette cleanser between heavier novels.

That's basically how I feel about most of the genre! I love it so much, criticisms and all, and it takes a LOT for me to give up on a series. I'm in it for the long haul as long as nothing goes horribly wrong, LOL.

I always try to remember that social norms evolved a lot since this series started, and the series evolved along with the world. But it's always true that there are too many men in these books.
