Is that a boot hanging from one of the horns? I looked at this enlarged but still could not tell.

It was supposed to be ribbons, I think... Plus the near ear.
Had not noticed that effect before, but I had many visual distractions from the now-deleted other figures. I think my eye just blipped over it.

A striking looking cover. I will be watching eagerly for the tale to drop so I can read and discover what it is all about. But I know that an adventure with Pen and Des and the crew will be a delight.
Somebody seems to have retracted many of your US editions from Apple Books (Sweden). The losses include all of the Vorkosigan and Penric & Desdemona series.
Wow, this sounds exciting. I’m looking forward to it. This week I’m also expecting new novels from Ben Aaronovitch and S. M. Stirling: Christmas comes in summer this year. (And it’s been a remarkably hot summer so far, at least here in Spain.)
"Brother-in-law’s bridgebuilding worksite"? Does that mean we'll be seeing Ikos again? (Well, either that or Adelis has made a major change in his profession. ;) ) Anyway, looking forward to this very much! :)
Very exciting! Thank you for more Penric! I’ll be waiting eagerly for the audiobook version, Grover Gardner nails the narration for this series.
I look forward to reading it someday. I'm not sure when or how, since Amazon has stopped supporting early Kindles, and I have no way to get it onto mine now. But I'm sure I'll figure out something at some point.
I love that cover!
Tomorrow is my birthday. With any luck, this will be available then and I can treat myself to a day spent reading.

You can download the free Kindle app from the Amazon website to any device -- PC, tablet, or phone -- and be reading within minutes. Whatever you are reading this on now would likely do.
You don't need a dedicated Kindle device to read Kindle books. I use my Android tablet, for the larger screen size and convenience. Phone is too tiny and I spend enough time at my laptop, though the app shares Kindle content across all 3 of my devices.

Huh. They all show up fine from my US computer. Is anyone else having this problem?

And if you dont want to download the app, you can go straight to amazon/books and read it there once you buy it.
My first impression of this cover was delight. I love the colours, and the expression on the ox’s face.
But I have to ask, is it meant to only have three legs?

Let us assume that back leg is occluded by the front legs and the magic swirlies (technical artist term.) And that the other ear is simply flipped back out of sight...

That will happen; Blackstone just offered. It will be at least a couple more months before the production goes through, but GG is again expected to narrate.

I know about the app...and I might. My experiences as an author on Amazon, well, they didn't end that pleasantly. I find myself leery of allowing Amazon software to run on this machine.
But as I said, I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Kobo and Apple are two different vendors/companies. so this seems to be an Apple problem. I'll let my agent know.
Again, if anyone has more info, shout out...

I love GG! Have you ever met him to discuss pronunciation and such?

Last year, it was my birthday present. Unfortunately I was infected with Covid (as was half my dance class, from exposure during our MLK Day class), but it was certainly welcome—the story, that is.
Weird thing my son and I experienced: for almost a month afterwards, we didn’t have the mucus collection that results in, at the least, late night & early morning cough (in San Diego forecasts, it was late night & early morning fog …). An interesting silver lining.

Lucky you! (Minus the Covid parts.)
I've probably smashed "refresh" on the Amazon page a hundred times today, and I'm just reconciling myself to the fact that it may be a few more days until we get it. But I'm always grateful for new Penric and Desdemona (or anything else from LMB), no matter when it arrives.

We've not met, but we did have a couple of phone calls a while back to discuss pronunciations. My agent Eleanor Wood is a big fan of his.

You can give your refresh button a rest for a few more days, I think. When it goes live, I'll make my usual post with links, etc.

Thank you. Really looking forward to reading it. Penric and Desdemona and their extended family of people and demons are the kind of characters I want to spend time with right now.

My purchased e-books are alright (I buy from B&N) however, my audiobooks on Audible are problematic. I just realized that 11 of your titles are "unavailable" -- 8 in the Vorkosiverse, 2 of Penric, and Knife Children. I know that a few were probably Plus books, but not that many!

I just went to audible.com and searched Lois and they all show as "in your library " (except Spirit Ring which I keep forgetting to buy)

I just checked a bunch of national instances of the Apple Books store and couldn't find US editions of Penric or Vorkosigan anywhere but USA and Canada. They used to be available in most of Europe, and the Harper Voyager editions of Curse/Paladin/Hunt and The Sharing Knife still are.
Even weirder, Kobo still offers all of the above to Swedish customers.
