I want to speak to the concern you raised about anonymity. You’re absolutely right: I’ve intentionally kept a low public profile. This wasn’t to mislead, but to protect myself. Like many survivors of emotional abuse, I made the difficult decision to shield my identity for safety—both physical and emotional. Sharing my story was a way to take my power back, but I’ve had to do it carefully.
Everything in the book is based on my lived experiences...even the shit dates. In fact, I had more absurdness to share but my editors gently reminded me it was a relationship memoir, not an entry for wildest adventures abroad. Perhaps I'll write another book chronicling some of them for a separate chapter of my life. Stay tuned.
In the mean time, I appreciate your honesty and grace in how you shared your opinion and I hope you can understand my perspective and need for safety.
