Call of the wild by Jack London
Chronicles of Narnia, any WW2 historical fiction/true history, and all of Louisa May Alcott's main books.
I can't pick just one... so I'm going to list them all lolThe Red Palace by June Hur
Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
My Father's World by Michael R. Phillips
Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

@Jasmine and Olivia: I liked Villette and Tenant, too! I'd like to pick up some of their others at some point. @Lorenzo: LotR is my second favorite series of all time!
@Olivia, okie-dokie! Thanks! I'll have to see if I can find either one of those at my library or somewhere!
I love all the warrior cats books but here's something to remember: the writers are 3+ people
the early books are good and clean
but in the middle of the series theere's this specific books we should avoid called Ravenpaw's farewell
in that book theres some lgbt undertones because the other people made the original authors do it (at least thats what people told me)
fortunately it doesn't say that the two chracters, ravenpaw and barley are mates
later in the other books it doesnt mention things like this
maybe its too melodramatic for today's readers, but the book Freckles written as one of the Limberlost series by Gene Stratton Porter has always been one of my favourites, Another one I read recently is The Boys on the Boat, written my Daniel James Brown, which was recently made into a movie. And Im a big fan of Arthur Conan Doyle. If you're looking for a American historical series written by a Christian author , I suggest Micheal R. Phillips series, The Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister. I suggest If I gained the World by LInda Nichols. Its just full of crisp descriptive narrative, and I love every character in the story, with all their flaws.
Harvest Moon, Married till Monday, Wooing Cadie McCaffrey, Honeysuckle dreams.. oh no there is so many!

Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle, An Inspector Calls by J.B. Priestley, and Livi Starling series by Karen Rosario Ingerslev
There are a great number to choose from and depending on where I was in my journey some resonated with me more at different times than others. When we were first stating to learn about the journey of faith to become the Bride of Christ my favorite book was Heaven Awaits the Bride by Anna Rountree. What a wonderful picture of the process God leads believers through to prepare them to be His Bride.
When we were about to be made homeless and had to face the valley of despair as we followed God in faith The Princess and The Goblin by George MacDonald helped a great deal. Mr. MacDonald's symbolism of the silver thread as an allegory of walking by faith made so much sense and got us through the worse days.
As we walked through homelessness we had no greater encouragement than from writer Frances J. Roberts. Her books, Come Away My Beloved, On the Highroad of Surrender, Make Haste My Beloved and Progress of Another Pilgrim were full of eternal gems that lit the way along our dark path.
So I guess it depends on what season a person is in that will determine which book is a favorite. If you are growing then your maturity level and needs will certainly dictate what writer and works will resonate with you.
I just like to keep an open mind and wait for the next great book that God will use to lead me on a new path or teach me something I need to know. Old or new doesn't matter, as long as it is the written word it can be of service if God is behind it.
My Life With The Walter Boys. This Might Get Awkward. Washington's Spies. Between Shades of Gray. Pride and Prejudice. Anne of Green Gables. The Prince and the Pauper.
