Okay, after you read my review this popped up on my feed and I will say I read the physical book and still felt it was all over the place. So that wasn’t just an audiobook thing, it definitely had lots of disparate stories and threads that I remember almost zoning out and back in while trying to read it. I’m normally a fast reader but this one had pockets where I got lost and that slowed me down because a lack of interest to continue with certain parts there. So yeah, just confirming the medium re: book vs audiobook is not the issue.
I have seen the author speak on several accounts on Instagram, including Man Enough which I really enjoy, and I think he does well in a conversation, or smaller doses with kind of more sound-bite -esque moments where you can take in one bit of wisdom and ruminate on it. A book as a long form and one-sided convo was not the best delivery method.
