Thanks for the honest review! I love her work so will read it anyways. I’m glad she doesn’t always do the same thing and keeps the readers on their feet.
What would make you give it 3 stars? I'm genuinely curious because I absolutely thought it was a 5 star. I mainly only read thriller and horror and I never saw the end coming.
@Jan Agaton -- I READ THIS AND DIDNT EVEN THINK TO GO BACK AND ACTUALLY READ IT!!!! WHAT!!! this is why I can't put it as anything other than 5 stars... It had me re-reading chapters and literally GASPING out loud!!! She is such a genius in this genre.
I love Alice Feeney and I enjoyed this book. But I agree, that Grady was painfully slow at realizing what was happening around him.

Ahhh what was the hidden message on page 302?! I read the ebook, so the pages are different. I saw the code from the first word of each chapter, but was there something else?
I totally missed the code in the first 14 chapters or the secret message in the book! Can someone help!?
Just finished and agree 100%! For those who are asking the message is, “If you are reading this I am trapped on the island please help me”
The premise of the book was very interesting and engaging to start, and the mystery deepened dramatically as the book went on. Definitely a psychological thriller which is not my favorite genre, but it was a worthwhile read.
I listened on audio so maybe that explains the strange possessed voice that sometimes seems to emanate from the male reader. Thought I was imagining it for awhile! 🤣
I think the audible is probably the best way to navigate this book. The narrators hype/camp it up in an ironic way. An immersive listen
