Lol but also awww this one sounded so good
Agreed! So many characters & I couldn't connect to anyone. Could care less about anything in the story. This book was so boring but apparently, we are in minority with this opinion LOL
Agreed! This book could have been 1/3 of its length. The different time periods, different characters, whose father is that again, it was all just a chore to keep track of. It took me 3 tries to finally finish, and while I did like the ending a lot, it took waaaaay too long to get there!
Me too! I'm 50% through and I can't get a handle on all the characters. I keep losing track of who is which and what
Same. I’m struggling with this book and I’m only at 15 percent. Just very boring and I cannot connect with the characters. It is the writing style. Just bland.
I'm so glad we all are in agreement! So many dang characters I could not keep them straight. Could easily be 200 pages less, and put more time in the ending. Felt like the author herself was tired of this book and just wanted it done.
Me too.. I’m 86% done and honestly don’t care how it ends . Too long. Characters confused me. Started off good.
I’m only at 17% and I’m so bored. Every few pages is a new character’s perspective. I have no clue who’s who, nor do I care. I haven’t met one character that is remotely interesting. Louise has no personality, lies about everything, and claims to be engaged to someone that she clearly doesn’t care about. Barbara’s mother, Alice, seems like a crack head. Tracey just does whatever people say. All three women are weak and timid. They’re the only characters I know and I don’t like any of them. I hate not finishing a book. Especially one that came so highly recommended, but this is absolute torture!!!

DNFing is caring 💜
Ok I really wanted to start reading this. I read for about 45 minutes. Jumping from one character to another. I won’t know if this is a good book or not. I’m done with it. Why not just tell the story??? What is happening to book authors. Why are we doing chapter after chapter of characters?? Then only to wrap up the book in one chapter. Over it.!!!
Totally agree! I got through 100 or so pages and literally could not care less what was written on the next page. Complete DNF for me.
I got to page 133. I am lost. I am bored. I almost never DNF books but I just can’t read another page!
Miserable read! Too many characters - how can you invest in any one of them? Too many time shifts - so confusing. I am so bored chapter after chapter. Alice is the only character of note. Def DNF

💯now that’s the most accurate review I’ve read about this book! Thanks for making me laugh, I’m finding a cabin to nap in with you - think they’ll find me😂
Completely agreed! I just wanted the book to be over, I didn’t care what happened to any of them by the end 🤣
I am 60 pages in and so confused what year or who the characters are. I also dont care who is missing and am definitely NOT going to finish this week and taking a nap in one of the cabins!
this is the best review i've seen about this book so far. let ALL OF THEM BE LOST. for goodness sakes!
I think I liked it more than you did, but Chihuahua, it was slow going for me in the first half! Only picked up speed in the last third. Lost some stars for that reason.
I think when you have too many characters to keep track of you lose interest. I stuck with it and thought it was pretty interesting. Make a good series
I'm about 40% through and giving up. Just too many character and too much backstory of them all. I really got this far only because I wanted to get the achievement for finish one of the Choice Awards books but I just cannnnnttttt
Omg I’m glad I’m not the only one… I’ve been wanting to read this book for months and now that I have I just can’t get into it. Wayyy too many perspectives and it’s actually really uninteresting to me. I love true crime and a good thriller or mystery but I just am dreading reading this book! I would not finish it but unfortunately it’s for my book club this month and I can’t do that
