Enjoying the listen so far. Grover Gardener seems to but doing his excellent job in reading and expressing the story.
I was so happy to get a notification from my (swedish) audiobookprovider that there was a new book from you available! Very quick work, considering they got Demon Daughter earlier this summer. Now I'm saving the new Penric for a Saturday treat!
Listening to it now! From e-publishing earlier this month to listening today, this has got to be the fastest turn around!
I think the link for Audible is incorrect
Do you happen to know what's going on with Audible prices? Used to be if I bought the Kindle version the Audible would be about $7.50. Of course I bought the Kindle the moment it came out. The Audible was almost $18 and it said that was a 30% discount! Luckily I had a credit I could use instead.

Ah thanks! Fixed.
No, I know next to nothing about Audible.

The discount you are expecting is called "wispersync". I have noticed that some books are "wispersync" eligible before the release date, sometimes it takes a bit longer, and occasionally even if Amazon/Audible have both it never happens. I am guessing that because of the fast turn around the tech-folks who make a title "wispersync" haven't done it yet. It may appear in the next few days, or perhaps never. On occasion when a title became "wispersync" with a good discount after I had already purchased it with a credit I have been able to return it, get my credit refunded and then purchase it with the discount.
Good luck.
I just finished listening to the book and enjoyed it quite a bit (as usual). I imagine at some point in the future I'll do a reread (relisten?) of the entire series. That should be fun.
Son Ian had missed this announcement (which surprised me, but that's why I checked anyway), but I pointed it out to him, and now we've both got our copies -- and he's listened to it twice already!
AS usual, I have the most satisfied feeling after finishing a "Pen & Des" book. Thanks.....also, what about that soldier with the bear demon. I only know I liked him and his demon. Even a short story to tie up the ends?

Foix will keep his demon, with whatever training the Chalionese Bastard's Order is up to, and eventually marry Liss, though not right away. Adventures not ruled out.

I guess the downside of getting the audio out so fast is that it keeps the typos. At least it has the High Orban one. I'm good with that - love getting it so fast. I remember waiting forever for GJRQ. Also remember being on a Y2K assignment when a coworker had tracked your latest V book to what warehouse it was in
Please never stop writing this series. It's the first thing of yours I've ever read (though I've been meaning to pick up one of your books for at least twenty years and never quite got around to it) and I can't get enough of these characters and this world. I have to read everything else now and I'm not sure there's a better feeling in the world than finding a new favorite author and knowing that you have a long list of excellent books to work through. Thank you. I am so looking forward to it. 💛
