Debbie Robson Thanks Deena. I have just taken it off my TBR. Well I can't remove the Want to Read. Had to make it abandoned.

rivka Debbie, you can unshelve it entirely if you wish.

Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...

Oh dear - are you sure? Taste is so subjective... Just because I couldn't bear the wretched thing (and should have loved it, apparently), doesn't mean someone else wouldn't appreciate it.

Debbie Robson That is true, but I can't tell by your comments that I wouldn't have enjoyed it.

Jan I really enjoyed this book and have started the second one in the series. For me it was a fun pleasant read.

Jennifer I abandoned it. I tried and really wanted to finish it but just couldn't. I picked up her recent two from the library, the cover caught my eye. They were OK, but not great. Not my cup of tea I guess.

Helena Turinski Oh thank heavens, I am relieved to know I am not alone in my disgust with this book! LOL It’s awful in all the ways you mention. I am also contemplating abandoning it, and am only persevering with gritted teeth just to find out whodunit.

When I force myself to finish I always have mixed results; proud of myself for carrying on & getting through, and at the same time disappointed because it usually turns out that I didn't care who it was...

Eva Seyler Your review is better written than the small portion of this book that I managed to get through.

message 10: by Anne (new)

Anne So glad someone else disliked this. I can’t understand anyone giving it five stars- the characters were unbelievable and unlikeable as well. The grammar and misuse of words was pathetic - I think I’ve been generous giving it 2 stars.

Eva, while I can (and do) apologize for my tardy acknowledgment, I cannot say "thank you" because the collective view of the writing would indicate it's not much of a compliment!! (I'm kidding, of course)

I have found that no one is ever the ONLY person to dislike (or like) pretty much anything. I don't always bother to say so, especially if I disliked something, but that's why I would never rely exclusively on reviews (and I'm sure you don't either) when deciding what to read.
