This is one of the most entertaining reviews I read, an amazing job, my friend! I can tell that you suffered so much while reading and I will probably sound cruel saying it, but it was all worth it just to write this review. I laughed so hard, so thank you! ;) Anyways, it's hard to make something original, so some people just... don't bother and make a mix of stuff that had been already made (and when asked, say that 'they had been inspired'). P.S. her name is Paedyn and his name is just... Kai? What?

Lol. This review was definitely something. I read powerless first so I couldn't read the red queen cause it felt like basically the same thing.
It wasn't until I read reviews that I saw it was on purpose.

This review was entertaining but Paedyn had powers?? I don't remember. What I do remember is them killing off her best friend. I was irritated.

omg my phrasing is terrible🙈 you can tell i wrote this enraged at 2 am yeah she didn't have powers i was trying to show how she could have made it more original whilst still being influenced by different books and I messed it up badly - i'll change it now to make it more coherent considering i'm more awake

loved this review, thought I was the only one rolling my eyes at the forced tropes and similarities to Red Queen. Also didn't enjoy their repetitive banter that made me cringe sometimes and already didn't love the pet-name "darling". I love this author though so I feel bad for not loving her book :(

She put all the famous ya dystopian/fantasy books in a blender and spat this shit. Also, the main characters bestfriend sowed clothes and she was tortured and killed which is also one of the key plot of red queen. When I read that detail I was genuinely horrified that the author felt brave enough to shamelessly plagiarise an extremely popular book (I get drawing inspiration but this is straight up a xerox copy). Booktok is the root of all evil at this point

If anyone read this whole review… WHY NOT JUST READ THE DAMN BOOK INSTEAD.

it was all over my tiktok with everyone saying it was amazing😭and defo not the best book of the year i felt nothing but boredom at every turn

what really annoys me is that some 5 stars are from people who didn't even read the book, but came straight from the authors tiktok and rated it😖😫

i agree with everything especially the 'darling' thing. it was wayy too similar to aaron warners 'love' which explains why they both blew up on tiktok

Thank god i’m not the only one who couldn’t believe why everyone was so excited abt it. One of the many reasons i didn’t enjoy it, was probably the fact that she just mixed a lot of tropes, including some famous male characters. Especially AARON WARNER. I felt personally attacked by it. In my review I pointed out some of their similarities. Lmk your thoughts :)

this is so bad it almost put me in a slump

I felt so wrong for hating this book after all the hype, so I’m happy to see I’m not the only one handing out a bad review. It’s possibly the least original book I’ve ever read. I kept hoping it would get better, and I got so mad after finishing it because it just never did 😮‍💨

it was SO LONG TOO and there were so many areas where it could have been improved! at one point i was convinced that it was made by chat gpt with a huge list of tropes as prompts
