Honestly, I liked the journal entries best because at least they sounded like they were actually written in 1789 -- the rest of it was obviously 2024 dressed in costume and therefore totally implausible to me.
Couldn’t disagree more. I loved this book but I listened to it on audio and perhaps that elevated it because the narrator did a fantastic job. Either way, I loved the storyline, setting, and tension. Scratched all the right itches for me.
Omg I so agree! I can’t believe I actually finished it. It was so boring and so many people recommended it. Bonkers
I am a quarter into this book and I think, I won’t finish it. Can’t get into it, find it boring also.
I am 20% through and was wondering why I wasn't loving this book-figured I would look at reviews to help justify quitting -but everyone loves it- your review seems the most real-but maybe I will give it a little more time.
I've stopped and started this book twice, it drags on and on - I simply can't be bothered trying to get it over the finish line.
