It was a great review; I'm so sorry to hear it was deleted 😭
This is a crime!! I'm glad to have read it before. Is this something that is becoming more common? Because I've noticed it happening to quite a few of my own reviews too
at least it's on the wayback machine, goodreads wont let me paste the link but type tinyurl dot com slash goodreadswhy

thank you!!!
i think i have this particular review saved somewhere but it's upsetting to think there might be more that have been inexplicably deleted and i just haven't noticed
i read 100 books last year (which was my goal), only for goodreads to delete one of them and say i read 99. 😭
I remember using this particular review as an argument in class a few years ago for why Daisy was not as as bad as people thought — annoying that it got deleted. Was it saved elsewhere?

cruel and unusual
I hate to be that guy but . . . I’m here for the review. If you must rewrite it, I am here for that too. Just sayin’.

i'm working myself up to it :(
That's so sad, they didn't even send you a copy of it before deleting it? I've started saving all my reviews in Word documents in case that ever happens. There's a lot of swearing in my reviews so it just might lol
I don’t know why this book was so good but it was. I immediately found the movies and watch them, then went to see the broadway show. Can’t get enough.
Everyone has a different aesthetic palate. Some like Hemmingway, I love Fitzgerald. A few years back, I read a writing craft book. The author hates adjectives and adverbs with passion. One of the exercise he listed in the book is to improve The Great Gatsby by deleting all the "unnecessary" adjectives and adverbs. You can imagine the result...I laughed and cried simultaneously at his "cleaned up" version.
That's sad your review was deleted! The link you shared, is this a blog you have? I plan to start saving my reviews to Word documents. I am sorry this happened to you! Above all, Goodreads people!
