So, is the h virgin?
Yes. All but one of the h’s from this series are virgins. The only one that isn’t is the one from book 6 because she’s been married before

Thanks and god bless you!
So is this a different version than the post you made one star review? I’ve never read this series. Is this not safe anymore? H has threesomes? I’m so confused 😂

In the book, Colin never visits a brothel when he comes back into town.
Even in the earlier books (books 1-3), we never get the impression he’s sleeping with prostitutes
I was talking to Miki and she was telling me about threesomes Colin engages in. And I was like “🤨. Threesomes? 🤨 what threesomes??”
I checked my reviews and I never mentioned anything about him even going to a brothel
So I reread, and it’s not there
But in the Netflix series, we see him waking up two different times after having a f’ing threesome! 🤬🤬🤬
Meanwhile, Penelope has remained a virgin, pining for him…
It’s just NOT the way I’ve always seen Colin. They ruined the image I had of him
The Books are safe… keyword, BOOKS
The Netflix series is not accurate to the book! And NOT safe 😐
Even season 2 wasn’t accurate to book 2! But Kate abs Anthony’s book wasn’t messed up this much!!!

Oh ok well then screw the Netflix series and I’ll stick to the books!! Thanks for explaining that, no way would I read something with the H having threesomes while the h stays a v for him…
Exactly 😒😐
I’m so disappointed!!!
I read these books when they were released in paperback almost 2 decades ago
The show has disappointed me
Ooof I can’t believe they took that route with Colin!!! I’m extra glad I haven’t watched this series now.

Girl… tell me about it!
It seems as if, in the show, he’s giving her dating lessons while also having threesomes/visiting the brothel
In the book, that doesn’t happen
She asks him to kiss her and then he realizes he wants her
But then he’s all about her 🤷🏻♀️
No brothels or threesomes, unlike the show 🤬

I haven't watched season 3 part 1 yet, but heard about the threesome tf? Why in the world they needed to add that to the show. The show is supposed to cater to women and they show him having a threesome. I hated the triangle they pushed in season 2 and dragged out. I haven't book 2 yet, but I liked the sound of the book storyline better than the triangle. Sigh.
I'm glad to know there are no threesome scene in the book and no brothel scenes. Show Colin was sweet, so I was kind of surprised to hear about that threesome thing :( That doesn't need to be in the show. I'll have that to not look forward to in the show. Hope he doesn't give Pen syphilis.

I was looking forward to this season too after waiting for so long for it :( I get to hear about the not one but two threesome nonsense :( I'm still going to watch it, but real disappointed and surprised to hear about that whole thing. Why? I'd expect that more of show Benedict, but not show Colin.
This was my first Julia Quinn book ever and I was in love with this couple, still am. I'm not following the show much because since the first season I knew the creators didn't get the essence of the romance in these books and what else were we here for? IT'S A ROMANCE BOOK SERIES.
But to hear that this couple, this one that was so special to me because of the sweetness of Penelope and the bond of mutual friendship and respect between them, this one gets degraded. It hurts.

Don't get me started on the True Blood thing. Yeah, season 1 was closer to the books. I binge watched season 1 before I read the books. Then, I started binging the books after season 1. Then, it started deviating more and more. I did like some changes and a lot of others hated. They butchered Eric/Sookie storyline and Pam's in season 4 and I was done after that. I liked the first 2 seasons, but started to get annoyed and didn't even watch the last season or two. I did watch the finale. I never finished the last Sookie book bc I was so upset and I preordered it too. :( I loved the book series too until the shock of the last book. I got a bad feeling with stuff the author said before the book came out. Like she joked having to move to Canada. She said she wasn't doing a book tour bc her kid was graduating, but I think she didn't do a book tour bc she knew how upset a lot of people would be by stuff. I loved the book covers for those books with the characters.

I still have to watch season 3 part one. I still need to read their book. I'm trying again to finish book one. I started it a while ago, but never finished.
I liked Daphne and Simon in season 1. I didn't read the books at the time and didn't know much about the books. I thought Anthony and the opera singer were a thing in the books, then I saw a lot of people were upset about him acting all in love with Sienna. When I heard about the show, I thought it was just a story invented by Shonda Rhymes. I was nervous bc I feel practically every couple gets ruined sooner or later on Grey's Anatomy. Then before season 1 aired, I found out it was based on a book series.
I haven't seen the series but I do follow them through reviews and such occasionally.
Simon and Daphne in the book were nice until THAT SCENE and later. But I liked they began as family friends.
It's been a while since I read the book but I don't recall Sienna, I'm pretty sure it was just mentioned that Anthony was quite experienced, but nothing detailed.

So I just read through this entire comment section and I’m just going to chime in and agree that it’s bullshit that Netflix changed so much in these books! I absolutely adored Colin and Penelope in the book and to change him into this major manwhore who is sleeping with multiple women while he’s supposed to be falling in love with Pen? I’ll pass on that!
I watched season one, which was fine, but skipped season two because I knew it had a lot of stuff I would hate. And I think I’m just done with the show now. So many good books get ruined by being made into TV shoes and movies, they always have to be made more dramatic and more toxic.
Due to the insinuations of Benedict’s nightly activities that are directly linked to his hobby as an artist in Season 2, I think Netflix will twist his story and make him a homosexual. 🤐
Olga wrote: "Due to the insinuations of Benedict’s nightly activities that are directly linked to his hobby as an artist in Season 2, I think Netflix will twist his story and make him a homosexual. 🤐"
I didn't know anything about the books when I watched season 1. I thought that Benedict was going to be gay and get involved with that married guy from season 1 that took him to that sex party/orgy. He got involved with the guys wife. Then, the dress shop lady Genevieve became his mistress. She'll probably be making dresses for Benedicts future wife, so that's nice.
I won't be surprised if they have Benedict sleeping with ow in his season or a menage at this point.

I'm reading book 1 now. I started reading it before, but didn't get far. I started it again and will finish this time. I like that book Anthony isn't trying to force Daphne to marry that Berbrooke guy unlike show Anthony. I know Simon is white in the books with blue eye, but I can't help but picture Rege-Jean Page since I saw the show first.
Hopefully, you can still enjoy the books. I did enjoy season 1 of the show aside from the gross orgy stuff and the scenes with Anthony/Sienna hooking up(like that tree scene ew!) I did like some stuff in season two, but I hated that they turned it into a love triangle. There were a lot of great costumes though. I'm disappointed that Edwina didn't get her own love story and I guess won't be back on the show. Maybe we will hear that she found some guy. The Queen was trying to throw her nephew at her.
Yeah, small deviations from plot can turn into bigger deviations as the series goes on. I don't look forward to seeing Colin in post threesome scenes :( That did not need to be in there. This is a show that is supposed to be for women. I know men can enjoy it too, but we don't need those unnecessary scenes with ow.

I didn’t even hesitate to watch season two because of the tension and the way that Anthony and Kate were supposed to get together
But man was I disappointed 😐
Yeah. I also adored Colin in the books…

Yeah… I was actually surprised that that they added that aspect to his character
I get trying to lengthen a book to make it a series (versus just a movie or two), but the way they’re doing it isn’t true to the books

I read all the books decades ago and reread them in 2021, including all the extended epilogues
I 3-5 starred all of them (depending on the book), so I enjoyed them all
Benedict’s story is actually pretty sweet. Think Cinderella with an air of historical flare. Would be top bad if they changed that! 🤷🏻♀️

I read that Julia allegedly had a condition that all the couples stay the same as the books. I know some fans want Eloise to get with a girl. I thought Benedict was going to be gay on the show. I didn't know that all the siblings had books. It seems that a bunch of people shipped show Eloise with Theo too. Her book is named after her love interest To Sir Philip, with Love. A lot of people might not know her book storyline. I didn't before I looked up the synopsis and reviews.

I heard Benedict has an older mistress in season 3? He has a new flavor of the month. I saw some people were wondering if maybe she will end up being the step-mother of Benedict's future love interest. I sure hope not but who knows.

Sadly, Julia Quinn declared that Michael who ends up with Francesca in her book (which is the most heartfelt and best book of all) becomes a transgender on Netflix 🤦🏻♀️ I just can’t with this author and this series.

I know…
As soon as season 2 started and it didn’t follow the book, I had a feeling things would be changed
But I never imagined they would change so much 😒
book 2: Anthony never made it to the altar with Kate’s sister
Book 3: Benedict has been painted as a huge manwhore/bisexual etc. we never saw any of that in the book. We never even met any of his previous f buddies 🙄. At this point, he’s been around so much, who knows what kind of person he’ll be paired up with
Book 4: we never see Colin engage in any kind of threesomes 🥴 yet in season 3, we see him in two of them 🤮
Book 5: Philip has been celibate since his wife died. We’ll see what they do in the show 🥴
Book 6: Michael was Francesca’s husband best friend. He’s a man, not a transgender
Anyway, I’m just annoyed. I hate the sleeping around/manwhoring the heroes are doing in the show ESPECIALLY when it’s in our faces
The books weren’t like that
I’m not saying they were virgins, but we don’t get shown any of their philandering or get drama from their previous f buddies 😐
Just 🥴
I read this series like 20 years ago. It’s tainted the swoony feelings I had

But man was I disappointed 😐
Yeah. I also adored Colin in the books…

I get trying to lengthen a book to make it a series (versus just a movie or two), but the way they’re doing it isn’t true to the books
C.K. wrote: "Olga wrote: "Due to the insinuations of Benedict’s nightly activities that are directly linked to his hobby as an artist in Season 2, I think Netflix will twist his story and make him a homosexual...."That wouldn’t surprised me at this point

Olga wrote: "Benedict’s story is actually pretty sweet. Think Cinderella with an air of historical flare. Would be top bad if they changed that! 🤷🏻♀️"I think I 5-starred it when I read it years ago... (I'll have to check my review)
I know... I hope they don't mess it up.
I do NOT like how Benedict is being shown... ugh
Sonia wrote: "C.K. wrote: "Olga wrote: "Due to the insinuations of Benedict’s nightly activities that are directly linked to his hobby as an artist in Season 2, I think Netflix will twist his story and make him ..."I read that Julia allegedly had a condition that all the couples stay the same as the books.

***Spoiler****
I heard Benedict has an older mistress in season 3? He has a new flavor of the month. I saw some people were wondering if maybe she will end up being the step-mother of Benedict's future love interest. I sure hope not but who knows.
C.K. wrote: "Sonia wrote: "C.K. wrote: "Olga wrote: "Due to the insinuations of Benedict’s nightly activities that are directly linked to his hobby as an artist in Season 2, I think Netflix will twist his story..."Yeah. All the couples are MF couples. And yes. All the siblings have books
I’m glad she put her foot down on at least one thing 😐
Too bad we’re seeing these men be different than they were portrayed in the books 😐

Yeah. Apparently he keeps having lovers left and right 😐
It’s so sexy 🙄
And his heroine is a Cinderella-esque virgin who’s mistreated by her step family. She’s the illegitimate daughter of an Earl
Who knows if that’s what will end up playing out on the screen

Sigh. They can't think of anything else for show Benedict besides him having mistress after mistress. Maybe he will meet her at an orgie instead of a ball. Well, I sure hope that Benedict didn't bang his future love interests step mom or any of her relatives.

Sadly, Julia Quinn declared that Michael who ends up with Francesca in her book (which is the most heartfelt and best book of all) becomes a transgender on Netflix 🤦🏻♀️ I just can’t with this author and this series.
Olga wrote: "Sadly, Julia Quinn declared that Michael who ends up with Francesca in her book (which is the most heartfelt and best book of all) becomes a transgender on Netflix 🤦🏻♀️ I just can’t with this auth..."I know…
As soon as season 2 started and it didn’t follow the book, I had a feeling things would be changed
