I don't ever respond to reviews, but I love your comment about how a billionaire funded ship would be set up differently. I'd like to explore that...
I expect it would be feudal. The billionaire would set themselves up as a monarch. Nepotism would be rife. A few generations down the track you'd have standard space opera set up of nobel houses vying for control. Where the interest would come from is that sort of society constrained in a generation ship in the deep dark of interstellar space dealing with all the same sorts of issues of population and resource limits as in your book.
I was thinking more 'worker's revolution', but your way works too.
