Thanks so much, Mary Beth.
Barbara, I 've picked up a couple of her works of historical fiction lured in by the premises and returned them to the bookshelves after skimming a bit. I am getting much more selective over historical fiction after so many letdowns. Which is my long winded way of saying that I understand and sympathize with your disappointment.
Love your candid review! I agree that learning about her business acumen would be more compelling than the focus on ‘what wealth buys’.😊
Ah, Barbara, I’ve had similar experiences with what I would call “historical fiction biographies”. I invariably wish I’d read a non-fiction version when I’m done. Super review.

I agree, Lisa. I won't be reading this author again. I will follow your lead in being more selective. It's hard to say you don't care to read a book a friend is handing to you.
