Cassandra Hamm The later books are VERY different from the first two. Much more adult. Not quite ACOTAR level from what I’ve heard but still. Just an FYI in case you didn’t know 😅

Thanks, Cassandra. While I don't mind some spice, maybe I won't continue the series then. There's so much hype about this author /series (and I'm failing to see why.) What am I missing?

Cassandra Hamm You’re welcome. From what I can tell, people who love SJM tend to not like her first two books (this one and book two in this series) as much because it was before her style changed. (Whereas I actually liked this first one. The second one… I got too mad and stopped reading the series, which is probably for the better.) Anyway, people who love SJM tend to prefer her ACOTAR series, which has a lot of spice. But from what I know, the TOG series does end up with a lot of spice later on. It’s a bit odd because the second book in this series has a very big twist at the end that to me more or less made the first two books non applicable and totally changed everything (which was why I got so mad). So the first two feel YA… the others, less so (again, hearsay).
