I never saw the Lion King as a Hamlet homage. Hummm.... You have the most interesting movie reviews. I'm afraid I am one who comes out of a movie with 'I liked it' and not much critical thought. I'm just there for the entertainment. Which is why I often want to go out to food with friends afterwards (not happening much anymore - too many people now have moved away :( ), to discuss or talk about the movie, because they will often go on about something that I never gave thought to, and I'd be like 'huh;, really?
Nothing wrong with just enjoying movies! I think being a writer means spending a lot of time trying to figure out how stories are structured and what makes them work, and it's pretty much impossible to shut that off. But I enjoy it!
