ApoorvaReads omg giorgia what an absolutely fucking amazing review! you summed up legit all what I feel and I’m sure many others are feeling perfectly!!! Cora really writes worst books ever and then there’s her minions going to everyone’s review to defend a book like this?? like how can one defend characters like those?? but I feel you I surprisingly liked amogreta book too and this was such crap. I hope your next read is better🫶🏻💃

Yami The way I'm so satisfied with people calling out Cora Reilly's shit writing and her lazy plot and characterisation. I know they're not real, but some of these women and men are straight up an imitation of one and another. Also, this convinced me that some series don't need a second generation stories. These authors makes it so convincing that their OG characters love can conquer everything then proceed to have their children having almost the same trauma as them which is very much unoriginal and again - lazy. Cora needs to take a long hiatus because as much as she tried her best to write, she seemed to love her characters stay in that patriarchal bubble despite like you said, having live in the most liberal syndicate. I'm sorry this book frustrated the shit out of you but thank you so much for giving the thought to give your honest review so that people will be aware what they're signing up for.

B B loves her books sorry

Phuong ✯ I'm still surprised that Cora acutally wrote amogreta and didn't make Amo such a whore like the rest of her heroes

Rain “I don’t understand this obsession with writing men whose only indication of being alpha, or hot or whatever other similar descriptor is to make them needlessly promiscuous and also supposedly “crazy” and with “traumas/demons”. Thank you!!! Same 👏👏👏

EmBibliophile What a beautiful review! I loved reading your thoughts and how you wrote them! I loved Remo and was so excited to read more about his kids, that’s like the only reason why I was considering reading the second generation’s series. But now I’m scared and the thing is Nevis had the privilege of having great parents and a great family and support system, so why??? Ugh sorry this was so disappointing for you. xx

Cora's books are pretty much always either a HIT or a VERY big miss for me and it's silly to put myself through it and then roast the book but can I help myself? No :D

Thank you! I'm glad we feel the same cause it validates my experience reading this. It's messed up that this is the best a romance book can be, I mean, it would have been so freaking easy to write a story worthy of these characters (i love their parents and their struggles to be better and give their kids better got to me so its such a jerk move to have their kids be so... unworthy)

"These authors makes it so convincing that their OG characters love can conquer everything then proceed to have their children having almost the same trauma as them which is very much unoriginal and again - lazy." -- this, This is why i'm so freaking angry. If this was a separate series not connected to the OG's i would't care much, I'd just rate it what it deserves and move on BUT come on - the history and expectations from this generation are high so why do it if it's not gonna deliver or actually mess up the OG's.

Right?!! Me to.
I feel like there will be other better releases perhaps. But when she writes a bad one she really goes all in..It's all or nothing always.

Thanks Em! Remo is one of my favorite male leads not juts in the Cora universe but overall. He was bad but straddled such a good line and never crossed it when it mattered and I loved him. I had other Cora books I enjoyed but not necessarily other characters. So to have his son be so... disappointing when I literally remeber all the cute moments of Remo being a good father with them as babies ,, it was just sad .. for him.

Auj So glad you reviewed this! Ugh, I'm curious, but I don't know if I want to read such a trainwreck of the book. Especially since I loved Remo's!
