Yes! That's why I gave it 3 stars, and in my opinion it was an okay book i couldn't see the hype.

This was hyped up back in the day. I mean- all my book friends were reading and loving it.
I think the amount of books available to read now is so vast that we don’t always succumbed to the FOMO lol

I always skip over recs for this book, I won’t read it given how so many of my friends had it ruined by this scene.
so the thing is that he’s lived in alone in isolation all his life and has absolutely no social experience whatsoever, so his trashy cousin travis convinces him to spend some time with him and “the boys” which bree the h, encouraged what neither of them knew was that travis took him to a strip club, at first archer is shocked about all thats happening there but travis tells him that this normal and women like their men to be experienced something archer wasn’t but bree was, the H also see’s many men in there with wedding rings and foolishly believes travis, basically travis plays with his embarrassment over not having any experience and sends him into a room with a girl the H used to have a crush on when he was 14, now the girl gives him a lap dance but he doesn’t like it in the sense it feels wrong though he does get an erection which is obviously a bodily reaction! so he gets up and leaves
while i was irritated af, i think the H was just manipulated

Yup,same here. An entire sweet and innocent love story ruined by one thoughtless scene. I won’t ever read this. That strip club scene basically told the readers that any girl could get him off, so what makes their love so special🤷🏻♀️.
And you guys sure he didn’t orgasm with the stripper? There are reviewers who said he did.🤷🏻♀️ maybe author changed it.

@jena i think the author changed it because i read this book last year for the first time and it didn’t have that scene, i would’ve remembered the book would’ve been a 2 star for me if he had enjoyed stuff willingly with the stripper

They did stuff together. He touched the strippers breasts and compared them to Bree’s. 🤢 I think he came because of the lapdance and then left. He still allowed the stripper to be on top of him though, so I clarify this as cheating. I read a book once where the main couple was married and the hero became infatuated with a former girlfriend. He kept things from his wife (the h), lied to her about his whereabouts and was wining and dining his former high school girlfriend. It went too far when he kissed her and felt each other up, but he stopped it. The heroine’s girlfriends then all told her, “well he didn’t really cheat on you, cause he didn’t sleep with her”. Ugh.. yeah he did.. when your man’s hands, mouth or any other body part is on another woman than his significant other it is cheating. That even women don’t get to say this.🤷🏼♀️ But for this book, it really ruined their romance for me. He was so genuine and within a few pages all through the drain 😭

I also gave it 5 stars years ago. I think if I reread it from beginning to end, I would probably raise it to like 3 stars because I have fond memories of Archer, and he was so gullible 😭. I hate Travis 🤬
