It was utterly brilliant. Best book of the year so far for me. :)
I loved the Licanius trilogy, and after your review I’ve just pre-ordered The Will of the Many. Thanks a lot Petrik!
This review is almost as long as the book. I could read the book in the time it takes to read your reviews.
I’m so excited for this book to come out! James islington is already one of my favorite authors ever and I’m super excited to read his new book
Yay, I’m so happy you loved it, Petrik! 🙌 The Licanius Trilogy is also one of my all-time favorites, so The Will of the Many is a highly anticipated release for me as well. Loved reading your deep-dive review, which makes me even more hyped for this book 🤩

Hahaha nahh man. The review is about 3k words, the book is 240k words long. But yeah, this is one of the longest reviews I ever wrote!

That's just like me prior to reading this. His position has certainly risen after The Will of the Many! :)

Thank you so much, friend! I hope you'll love this. I ramble on and on and on. If it weren't due to Goodreads characters limitation, I would've talked even more. xD
Great review Petrik but I’m not surprise. Honestly I think Islington is really one of the best fantasy writer his books are exceptional. Can’t wait to read it

I'm really looking forward to this, now. Ever since you recommended The Green Bone Saga, and it became one of the best things I've ever read, I trust your opinions.
"Finally", and then proceeds to write another 1000 words lol. I was extremely excited for this book already and now I'm even more so after reading this review!
Holy cow. So excited for this. Glad to see you loved it as I love the licanius trilogy. Cheers, Petrik!

You're so welcome, Lou! As a fellow Licanius trilogy fan myself, I am so pleased The Will of the Many exceed my high expectations. I hope it will, too, for you! :)

A delightful and extensive examination of this novel, Petrik. I've never read James Islington though his books have long been on my TBR. With your heartfelt endorsement, I'll do my best to read this one on release!

Time to fix the situation, Filip! The Will of the Many is awesome! :D
Shit, Petrik! To me, Patrick Rothfuss' books were 1-star reads, yet Pierce Brown's were 4 to 5 stars. What to do?! Which author do you think this is closest to? Is the main male character an extremely annoying I'm-a-nice-guy type?

Definitely closer to Pierce Brown than Rothfuss, imo. Imagine Red Rising in a fantasy setting and heavier focus on the Academy! :)

Thank you so much, Hella. I certainly think so. Loved it so much! :)

So jelly. Wish I could read it now too, but will def get it. Need to find out first if any special editions are planned! Very happy with my copies of Licanius from Broken Binding, as I loved those books too. I also really enjoyed the first Red Rising trilogy, so looking forward to this a lot!! 😍

omg you introduced me to James Islington and I absolutely loved the Licanius trilogy — one of my favorite series of all time. Looking forward to this book. Thanks for another great review!

Thank you so much, Sydney! I hope The Will of the Many will be another hit for you! :)
Incredible review! This is hands down my favorite fantasy book of the year so far. Only Lightbringer could come close to knocking it down. I was glued to the page every single second I read it.

Thank you so much, Christina! I look forward to reading and finding out whether Light Bringer can top this or not. But yeah, The Will of the Many is still my favorite book of the year! :)
Abby wrote: "Hey Petrik! About what age would you recommend this book to?"
Hey Abby, this is adult fantasy, but 17 and above should be safe! :)
JL wrote: "Is this better than Mother of Learning which is also mainly set in a Magic School?"
Yes it is. :)
Reading it right now and I'm loving it so far (at around page 100), it is very reminiscent of Red Rising (one of my all time favorite series) but it completely feels like its own thing and the author has CLEARLY improved the 2 aspects that where not incredible in The Licanius Trilogy, his prose and character work. I love how you are a treasure trove of good books lol.
Awesome! I'm so glad you liked it! I'm reading it right now and so far really enjoying it! It's almost as intriguing as Shadow of What Was Lost and can't wait to finish it!

Thank you so much, Alex. This one is certainly better than The Shadow of What was Lost, imo. And you'll see that even though it is inspired by Red Rising, it is certainly its own thing. You will feel it even more as you progress through the book. It's damn incredible! :)

Thank you so much, Janhavi! I hope you continue to enjoy The Will of the Many. Imo, it's Islington's best book, up there with The Light of All That Falls! :)
