Great review! So glad you enjoyed it. I am reading it right now. It's so good! 💜
Mary Beth! I loved this one from the start, and I'm so happy to know that you are reading it now, and enjoying it, too!
Jen, thanks so much! I loved this one so much, and I think it will be quite a while before I forget it! It's the first book of this author's that I've read, but it left quite the impression!
L.A., I went into reading this without knowing much about it, and never having read this author before. I absolutely loved it!
I posted my review of this today, too, Cheri! (Finished it on Thursday, after listening to the author speak in Phoenix). I loved it as much as you!
Melissa, I wish I'd known you were reading it, too! This is the first of her books that I've read, and I need to look into her other books!
Cheri wrote: "Melissa, I wish I'd known you were reading it, too! This is the first of her books that I've read, and I need to look into her other books!"I really loved her first book, The Wife, the Maid and the Mistress -- and Code Name Helene. I have the others waiting for me; just haven't read them yet.
Karen, that is exactly how I felt! I was so immersed in this story, and while I loved reading it, I didn't want it to end, either!
Christina, I'm so glad to know you're reading it and enjoying it! It is one I will be thinking about for quite a while!
A story set in the 18th century. You had me curious about fate the mid-wife whom the doctor evidently despised. Splendid review, Cheri.
Mark, another review I never got notifications for until today - but only because someone 'liked' it but didn't comment, but I did get a notification anyway. My apologies for the late response, but thank you for your comment!
Laysee, it is set in the 18th century, and in a very remote area. There are moments that felt like I could really envision it all, the author really didn't reveal much about where it was going but the writing was lovely. The main character is a midwife, which I loved.
Bonnie, I have to go searching for reviews by others, unless I just happen upon them, myself. This was a wonderful read for me, and I hope you enjoy it when you can find the time for it!
