I actually expected you to have read the books before me, Ririn. ☺️Be sure and start with the first story if you decide to try the series. The MCs’ relationship changes over the course of reading the books. Plus there is a different mystery for Curren (and Harriet) to solve.

I read the first book in this series, so I have a question. Are Harriet and Curran on course to have a romantic relationship by now? In the first book, he had a live-in native lover.

Their relationship builds slowly. (view spoiler)[It goes from acquaintance with a working relationship -> friends who work together (Harriet actually has several men who like her)->to this story (they share their feelings by the end). Hence the reason I asked the author for more Harriet and Curran together. I thought the author writes their characters true to the time but I do want to see more romance in the next book.
