yeah, i've read that one too! and hmm i love both in different ways so i couldn't choose. 😂 i liked the romance aspect in that one more, of course, because that was full-on romance rather than being a tease like it was in this one (i still loved it here though, it's just that the focus is on the fantasy). there are pretty dark themes in that one though, just fyi! so check tws before reading book one because the slavery and everything described is pretty gory. i hope you enjoy whichever one you end up picking up though, kati!

thanks, iz! girl yes i highly recommend this series! the cliffy isn't even that bad (that's a lie, you'll need book three asap 😂😭 but plot-wise it's not that big of a banger hehe), so you can easily read books one & two and be fine. i can't wait for your thoughts whenever you pick it up! 💖

for sure! but "heavier" is still veryyyy less because the true romance starts in book two so you'll need to stick with it till then. the dynamics between them are a lot of fun to see developing. and i know you don't love slow-burn and it's not too heavy on the spice either, though there are some scenes that are pretty hot.

damn when you say slow burn this really sounds like it. i remember i avoided book 1 because of the romance but it’s no surprise to see it develops in the later books. i’m curious but i don’t think i’ll start book 1 anytime soon (maybe next year). do you know how many books are planned? it’s good to see there’s a power play but it was written well, so i’m gonna guess it makes sense with the characters situations and who they are. so glad you loved this so much!! 💜

thanks, vania! you definitely won't regret it 😂 if she loved book one she's almost certain to love this one as well because it's almost even more action-packed and exciting than book one.

yup, definitely! 😂 we get crumbs of the romance in book one (barely) and in book two we further see it develop, but only just the tension and only near the end do we really see moments of them together. and i'm not sure about how many books are planned. book three is confirmed but i feel like we need more books to wrap up the plot & fully develop everything so i'm guessing this is gonna be more than just a trilogy. and yes the power play was actually done well because of the characters and the expectations they subverted. thank you, elena!! 🩷

fair enough. 😂 the cliffhanger in this one wasn't too bad though! honestly it's comparable to how captive prince #2 ended. all in all it was iconic more than unbearable but i just need more of the characters. i hope whenever you decide to pick it up, you love it too!
