Sieger The author did exactly the same for me. He has tried to get my review taken down and reported me!

Jen Sutton What on earth! It's madness 🤯

John Mauro He blocked me too!

Andrew Rockwell I see a lot of authors shoot themselves in the foot on Goodreads. Art (books) are suppose to be interpreted differently by people that enjoy them, it seems like some takes reviews personally, which is silly. Nothing is loved by everyone, use the criticism to grow.
John I’ve been following your reviews for a while, and I think they are the best I’ve come across on this platform. Keep doing your thing.

Grack21 Oh, a self published author behaving badly on goodreads? How could this happen.

Michael The author hasn't blocked me but I wasn't friends with him on GR anyway. I have been in contact with him via Instagram and he seemed civil enough, but blocking people for giving negative reviews seems a little silly because any review is feedback that can be used to improve and publicise their work.

I agree with much of what you've said about the plot, though I didn't find anything too glaring editing-wise. The female characters did come across as male fantasies, and the rape stuff in fantasy books is a tired concept for me.

Jen Sutton Yes I spoke with him quite often via Insta prior to reading the book until I was blocked. It's a shame because I don't feel like any of my review is offensive and annoyingly, I enjoyed the story so much there is a large part of me that wants to read Aiduels Sin to see if any improvements are made. But I'm also stubborn and the authors behaviour means I don't want to endorse him at all 🤷‍♀️

He did leave a post on Instagram a couple of days ago explaining that he would be taking an indefinite break from the site. I don't know what his plans are but he is no longer interacting on any social media platform. I haven't read book 2 yet but I think the tone was too dark for me to want to read it at the moment.
