LOL sounds like pretty much every enemies to lovers story out there, sorry not sorry. 😬 books are always marketed like that because authors think a small dislike constitutes as enemies. i hate it. anyway, sorry you didn’t really like this :/ i don’t like it when characters are presented one day and change completely in the second half. it sucks even more because it’s a series it seems (?) so there was room for the development to continue. hopefully the next one is much better! 💙

Even with such great tropes, it's always a shame that there's something about the story itself, that makes it fall short of a great read. Hope the next part will make up for the shortcomings in this one, SK. Amazing review! 💜

Haha sadly that's becoming a norm nowadays. Authors need to be more original and unique in that approach, I guess its a difficult ask but I don't see how much wrong it can get. Trueee, they have blurred the lines between disagreements, hate and enmity. Yep with a series, there is more than enough opportunities for character development but yeah she took the wrong approach here. I hope the same 🩵

Definitely sucks when a book has lots of potential and even more when the tropes are wasted on a poorly executed book. Sucks that you had to read it but at least you enjoyed some of it. Amazingg review love 💞 hopefully the next book in the series is way way better 🤞🏼

Agreed on FMC! She went from a logical, strong minded woman to a complete dumbass. I’m on book 2 and it’s worse!

Spot on review. Had potential, but I hate when the FMC go from “feisty” to just kind of dumb. Will not be continuing the series.

Exactly, that switch is just not good to read. Sorry to hear you're not continuing with the series, I found it to be getting a lot better

I totally agree, the kiss was rushed and kind of just put in there at an odd place. Especially if its going to be a four book series..... not a lot of room for tension to build more, I felt that it definitely lacked on that front. Henri gave me Gale vibes... was not a fan from the beginning either. The ending also didn't sit well with me. I kept looking at the page count thinking there is no way she is wrapping this up in six pages.

OMG yes, the way she changes is terrible. She's so dense now and I want to throw my book across the room when she says and does illogical things.

Ditto. I wanted to like this more but like you said, the first half was off to a good start and second half was rushed and I was frustrated with Diem changes in character

Exactly!! It did not make sense at all for that too happen, was so rushed and forced. Good comparison of Gale and Henri lol. Right?! This series had a weak start but I recommend to keep going
