Allison I watched the movie last night and it was beautiful. It's an update of the "Beauty and the Beast" folktale.

Allison Hurd Watching this is high on my list of things to do!

Jonathan O'Neill I couldn't imagine anything that Studio Ghibli has adapted without the wonderful soundtracks but I've seen a lot of people reading this one; maybe I'll give it a go... I'll have Spotify at the ready :)

Allison Hurd I love reading with a soundtrack! Do it! I will also say the audio narrator did a great job ^^

message 5: by Anna (new)

Anna Which narrator did you listen to? I love Jenny Sterlin's narration, but there's a newer one out by Kristin Atherton, and that seems to be the one available in most places now.

I'm so happy you loved it ^_^

message 6: by Allison (new)

Allison Hurd Sterlin is the one I listened to! It was very enjoyable

message 7: by Anna (new)

Anna Yay! ^_^ I love how she reads Sophie. And Howl. And Calcifer. And the book :D

message 8: by Allison (new)

Allison Hurd Haha same ! ^^

message 9: by Olga (new)

Olga Yolgina I listened to Kristin Atherton's narration and it seemed pretty enjoyable to me as well.
But after your comments I think I should look for Sterlin's narration for the other books in the series )))

message 10: by Anna (new)

Anna I've listened to the Atherton ones, too, and they're really nice as well! Sterlin does Sophie's old lady voice so perfectly, and there are a couple of lines that I love so much, that's what makes it even better :) The next two books have different protagonists, so there isn't as much of a difference.

Olga Yolgina Anna wrote: "The next two books have different protagonists, so there isn't as much of a difference."

Oh, really?!
Shoot, I hate it when they change protagonists in the series :(

Nilanjana Haldar I’m very glad that you liked this one, Allison 😊

I didn’t read it, only watched the movie (which I really loved)

message 13: by Allison (new)

Allison Hurd I recommend the book if you ever want a comfort read then! There are some differences which you might like :)

message 14: by Nilanjana (new)

Nilanjana Haldar Alright, thank you.

I will keep it in my mind. Surely the book must be better then! : )
