Chris Lee "And I categorically hate it when the author chews and re-chews the facts several times thinking the reader is slow or dull-witted." - Music to my ears! I agree, Helga. Especially when it is towards the end of a book. Unless you have put away the book for several months, we just read it and do not need a refresher. Just get on with it already. 😁 I've seen this one pop up quite a bit. Sorry it was a let-down. On to the next!

Thanks! I found myself rolling my eyes a lot with this one.

Joe Excellent write-up, Helga. I really enjoyed the author's debut Blacktop Wasteland and have this one on my reading docket. I agree that plot is the most difficult thing for a writer to solve and those tend to be pretty important in mysteries. I see a terrific character, atmosphere and overall good writing here, there and everywhere, but story is often what results in a three-star read.

I haven't read Blacktop Wasteland and i will definitely read it soon. As i said the writing was good, but the actions and reactions of the characters were sometimes unreasonable. There were also too many fillers that could have been omitted.

ReadAlongWithSue ★⋆. ࿐࿔catching up Sounds very disturbing Helga. Not sure if I can stomach that
