Oh I completely agree with that. The consensual sex scenes didn’t do anything for me since I was still reeling from all of the rape. I just wanted to make note it was “horror” and not a romance.

Thanks for the spoilers. I’ve read 11% and was curious if it actually gets better or has ANY redeemable qualities. Safe to say I will just DNF this one here and move on. Not to yuck someone else’s yum on this one, but I like a bit more storyline rather than just “shock/gross factors”.

I listened to the audiobook and honestly wish I’d read the review first. I knew going in there’d be no warm and fuzzy. TikTok kinda prepared me for this book but this review would’ve steered me clear altogether.
I’ve seen some nasty stuff and had some nasty stuff spewed on me working in an emergency department but none of it did I have to ingest. The Mayo in a jar….. I had some strong urges to gag. It was building up in the back of my throat. I’d have chosen the brand. Also, maybe I’m the worst but the idea of kissing someone who hasn’t brushed her teeth in months or more and is starving and done with her mouth what she had to do came about second to the eating contest.

I loved the book ,it showed even the darkest of people can become good . Maybe the fmc , Ophelia,needed that to see life differently ,and the MMC ,Alex,needed to do what he did as he tried to break from the cycle of fucking women forcefully ,and killing them . I love that the MMC was like don't object cause you are mine , mine to conquer ,mine to fuck . In addition,he said he doesn't like fucking women when his father's cum or his brother gunnir was in there.thats justified .
SAMs death was a bit predictable, her character was fading away. The eating contest was something else .very unhinged . Rated the book four stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
