I'd love to have a look at this book, Lorraine! She's never been my favourite actress, but the stories behind the jewellery must be terrific! Lovely review! :))
Thank you, Beata. I tried to buy this book back in the early 2000s about 2 years after it was printed, but I was told it was out of print. In 2015 another company decided to reprint it. I was thrilled. The jewels are amazing, but there are some never before seen pictures included. The stories written by Elizabeth Taylor about each jewel presented enable the reader to understand the actress more. Thank you again, Beata!
That is a tough decision, Bam. I am a Anglophile-very into the BRF, but all royals fascinate me. I will tell you that Elizabeth’s book is a beauty and provides history into certain pieces. Good luck!
As Elizabeth Taylor stated and I mentioned, she truly felt that she was only a ‘custodian’ for the pieces she had in her collection, and then the jewelry would go to another ‘custodian’ or various custodians and play a part in their lives. And Ms. Taylor wore all of her pieces - each one at a particular time. She did not keep her collection only for her eyes. Ms. Taylor loved her jewelry but shared with it by wearing it. I would have loved to seen that! A beautiful woman wearing stunning pieces of jewelry! The perfect picture!
A lady admired by many, including my Mom. Her affordable perfume is among the first celebrity brands and most well-known in the world, which my Sister-in-law enjoys; White Diamonds. I don't have room for coffee table books but would otherwise enjoy this as well. I enjoy nearly anybody's autobiography and personal writings.
