Will this story also be released in paperback, and/or as part of an anthology? Love this series and very much want to read it, but $50 for a novella is really steep. (ebooks aren't a viable option for me, so I've been eagerly waiting for each collection.)

SubPress has a one-year exclusive term of license, so nothing will be decided till that's up.

Thank you for responding! Appreciate the information. How about "The Assassins of Thasalon"? Are there plans for that to be released in print, and/or to be part of an anthology? (Also does one need to read "Assassins" before "Knot of Shadows"? That would be a deterrent to buying it.)
Well, Knot of Shadows would have at least one major spoiler for Assassins. I wouldn't be surprised if once the SubPress limited edition hardback rights run out, if Assassins and Knot appear as a combo volume, I think the number of words is similar to that of the previous Penric and Des collections. But it would also depend on if Lois is struck by any inspiration for new stories in the series before then. We can live and hope!
If you can't do eBooks, have you tried audiobooks? All of the Penric titles are available in that format and I think Grover Gardener does a good job reading them, once I got used to it NOT being Vorksogian. I think they are available in CD format not just digital downloads.
Thanks for the suggestion but audiobooks really don't work for me, I am a visual person and can't stay focused on someone talking for that long. I'd buy the ebooks in a second if there was a printable format.
p.s. Sorry for the delay in response, for some reason I didn't receive an alert for your comment.
