I'm afraid that I got stuck with the chapter describing Williams' depressing family situation and put the book down. It's good to know that he finds the Padavanos. I may give it another go. Glad you enjoyed it!

So much unnecessary harshness!! And poor William........
I am intrigued by this one, if I read it I will make sure I pick up the physical copy rather than the audiobook! Amazing review Barbara! 🧡

This sounds even better than Dear Edward, Barbara. Cassandra Campbell’s voice is SO soothing, it often puts me to sleep, lol. I think I’ll take your advise and get myself a physical copy 🫶🏻

Excellent review, Barbara! I can see how not having a glimpse into the characters' personalities and motivations can make them less believable and more difficult to relate to.

Glad that you appreciated this novel, Barbara- excellent review! I understood Rose, Julia- I didn’t need more background on their intractable personalities. Perhaps life experiences shaped Napolitano’s brittle portraits there. The grace of reconciliation had me in tears. Happy you enjoyed it overall!
