Hello, I’m Marcia and I've written two family saga books set in Victorian times in North Devon, in the South West of England. I've self-published both books and they are available on Amazon, both as ebooks and paperbacks. My first book in “The Hartford Manor Series” is “The Mazzard Tree”. http://mybook.to/TheMazzardTree When Annie Carter’s father dies of consumption, her mother Sabina is left with seven mouths to feed and the family soon face the workhouse. To save them from starvation, Annie steals vegetables from the Manor House garden, risking jail or transportation. She is watched by Robert, the Lord’s son, but far from turning her in, he befriends her. Annie introduces Robert to a very different world from the one he knows and he is fascinated by the life she leads. Harry Rudd, the village blacksmith has long admired Annie and when he proposes, her mother urges her to accept. She reminds Annie, that as a kitchen maid, she will never be allowed to marry Robert. Harry is a good man and Annie is fond of him. Her head knows what she should do, but will her heart listen? I recently needed to republish my first book, "The Mazzard Tree" and the reviews on Amazon haven't caught up with the new version yet.

Robert, the son and heir of Lord Fellwood, has been in love with Annie for a long time and would like to marry her, but his family will do anything to prevent the marriage. Annie’s friend Sam lives in a makeshift hut in Buzzacott Woods, a remote part of Exmoor. Now an old man, he has no family and has to fend for himself as best he can. New owners have moved into nearby Buzzacott House. They are rude and unfriendly and the local people become curious. Why is a dangerous dog roaming the grounds? Do they have something to hide?
I’ve also written a short story called “Amelia”. It’s about a little girl of 4, who is abandoned in Victorian London, with her brothers Joseph and Matthew. The story is a spin-off from my first book, “The Mazzard Tree”, which features all three children. Elizabeth wants to pack her bags and visit other harbor towns, but Scarlett insists on keeping their appointment. They fall in love with the quaint bed-and-breakfast and sign the papers a few days later.

Then a suspicious explosion rocks the harbor, destroying boats and part of the dock. Their fears mount as an intruder breaks into the inn.
The curse placed by the Penobscot Indians on the original settlers and descendants of Blue Harbor has returned with a violent twist.
Have Elizabeth and Scarlett put their lives in danger by dating two of Blue Harbor's descendants? Should they sell the inn or stay and fight the curse alongside David, Logan, and Jonathan?
