Thanks for shelving it guys! Book #1 has not been released. I'm still waiting on the go-no-go from my publisher, while I work on the edits from my first set of beta readers.
Thanks! It's not a method I would recommend to other authors (especially those that take 4 - 5 years per book. But for me writing the whole series just makes sense, and allows me to intertwine plot thread and make sure that it has a satisfying conclusion.
I agree, completing the series and then publishing it is very kind to the readers as well.
I don't start a series until I know that all parts are released.
LOL, Siddharth, so I guess you won't be reading ASoIaF any time soon? :P We can only be grateful that our man Michael is so much quicker and more diligent with his writing than present-day GRRM... :)
@Siddharth - Well hopefully you won't wait until "released" - with the knowledge of "written" - if people don't buy the books as they come out, then the sales are low and the publisher might cancel (or certainly don't promote) other books in the series. But I understand what you mean.
@Christomir - Well I certainly try to be "timely" - I won't sacrifice quality in that pursuit. But I do write everyday and am pretty good at figuring my way out of the spots where I get "stuck."
Oh I am so excited. I became a fan by listening to your narration of the WoT and a few Brandon Sanderson books. Then I read the Riyria books. Thank you for your craft and I will be waiting anxiously for this
Is the title of the book "Age of Empyre" or "Age of Empire"?
The cover says Empire, but the title on this page says "Empyre". Then again the cover also says "book five" instead of "book six".

Yeah, LOL, I bet he will expand the Rise and Fall series to 6 books too. :P
Just came here to say I miss the usual blurb “this is my own work so I’m not here to review but to update” thing :)

LOL!
This one and The age of Death are shelved and waiting to be read. Love Ryiria - both The Chronicles and Revelations. The series managed to make some of my hard core thriller friends fans of fantasy thanks to Royce and Hadrian :) Unfortunately the Bulgarian translation (which was surprisingly good) haltered at the second book of Chronicles and that's limiting some of them that dislike or don't know English...
Am I missing something?! I thought this book is not published yet. How come it has 117 reviews? I'm still waiting on Age of Death.
@Mohamed Elkammar You probably mean it has 117 *ratings, not reviews. :) I can only see 1 review, by Katherine, and it's not a real review - she is just saying what a big fan of the author she is. But yeah, 117 people having rated the book, without any of them having read it at all, is quite weird. I do think we should forgive the ones, who are big fans and just want to show appreciation to the author in general by giving 5-star ratings to his future book, which they haven't read yet - I guess we can take that as a vote of confidence (i.e. - "His books are always brilliant, so I'm sure this one will be worth 5 stars too!"). But the ones that just come here and give a 1-star rating to a book they haven't read (like Robert Sawyer, Sunay, and others) - wow, that's just a major d-bag move and it cannot be excuse, no matter how you slice it! Shame on them. Shame, shame, shame. And the ones that give it a 3-star rating: Seriously?...LOL Now, that is neither sweet, nor malicious - it's just stupid.
@Nabil - true enough - but 2020 is now almost here! So now we are just down to 5 months rather than 5 years ;-)
@Marcel - it is Empyre -- we did a name change to give it just a bit of distance from Age of Empire the game. For a long time we had the "placeholder cover" which had the wrong name and number
@Andy - it is odd how both of my "big series" came out to be six books each. Current work in progress (Rise and Fall WILL BE A TRILOGY -- I hope ;-)
@Christomir - so far it looks like Rise and Fall will stay at 3, but until it's all done, who knows!
@Johan - Doh - I'll have to get that added!
@Gil - I'm glad you've liked the books - We would love for the Hungarian publisher to continue with the series - write them! Tell them you want more! We aren't stopping that, we just need them to give us a contract.
@Mohamed - You aren't missing anything. It's not published yet. The first copies of the book will hit the street in February 2020. People often put ratings on books that they are excited for.
@Christomir - sometimes people give a book a 1-star review by mistake - or sometimes they are doing what the 5-star people are doing, saying they expect it to be terrible. As for the 3-star rating? Yeah, I'm as mystified by that as you are ;-)
Michael wrote: "@Gil - I'm glad you've liked the books - We would love for the Hungarian publisher to continue with the series - write them! Tell them you want more! We aren't stopping that, we just need them to give us a contract."
@Michael, Gil was talking about the Bulgarian publisher, not Hungarian.
I am from Bulgaria too, and I became a big fan of your work thanks to that publisher - MBG Books. If it wasn't for them translating and publishing the Revelations, I might not have even heard of you, to this day.
Unfortunately, they seem to have quit the book-publishing business altogether, and hence the lack of any more books by you on the Bulgarian market - MBG Books published the Revelations and the first two Chronicles (basically - the ones done by Orbit in English) and that was it :( They've gone 100% inactive since 2017.
And I think it is unlikely they'll ever come back to book-publishing.
So, what you are suggesting to Gil won't work. That is why I haven't made any efforts in that respect either - it's useless to write to a company and urge it to continue to publish your books, when it no longer has interest in publishing ANY books at all. :(
It seems you'll have to find yourself another publisher in Bulgaria... Or rather, another publisher will have to discover YOU.
I'm so excited for this book! It looks stunning and I want to know so much!! I have so many questions! Yay!!!

Yep, we are f**ked up here when it comes to Bulgarian editions - glad that more people are reading now in English, thought the Bulgarian translation for Revelations and the two books from Chronicles was surprisingly good and it would be logical and great to be continued, thought MBG books vanished... :)
Such a beautiful cover, Marc always does a great job that just ignites your imagination. And I just love that theme of small-against-large that is everywhere in his artwork. I am eager to read the whole series. I fell in love with Riyria, and just hooked my wife on Hadrian and Royce adventures. Man or man, how I miss them already. Amazing books!
When is this book scheduled to come out? I know Age of Death is supposed to be out sometime in February of 2020? Fixing to get a copy of Age of War today from my local library!
Stone wrote: "When is this book scheduled to come out? I know Age of Death is supposed to be out sometime in February of 2020? Fixing to get a copy of Age of War today from my local library!" Age of Death is already "out" for those, who backed the KickStarter campaign (and thus - pre-ordered a copy of it through KS). ;) So I already have it on my Kindle, though I haven't managed to start reading it yet. But yeah, it should be *officially* out in February.
And, IIRC, Age of Empyre is scheduled for some time around May.
i am new can you help me be able to add a book and write about so other people can see likme you ? thanks for your help !!!!?
