Lovely review.
I always enjoy your thoughtful reviews, Susan. Are you planning to write a novel about O'Keeffe? Since she was born in Wisconsin (just 4 miles away from where we are living now) and since I have always loved her work, I will definitely enjoy reading about her in this book as well as a few others you have recommended. Thanks.
I'm still not sure, Debbie. There are a lot of issues around this subject (as this review and the book itself suggests). But I'm certainly considering it--and I'm enjoying the research, on site and in books.
Susan, this is a wonderful review! I have passed it on to my sister Jill Bush, who is the premier portrait artist in Fort Worth, Texas. You can see her work here: http://jillbushartist.com/jillbushart...
You have a way with words. Are you a writer? I have written a nonfiction book, a history book about the legally unsolved murder of a cattle baron. The title is Last Train to El Paso--the mysterious unsolved murder of a cattle baron . I have never written a novel or any other literary fiction form. It’s a whole different art. If you feel daunted by the idea of writing a novel you might consider writing a nonfiction book about O’Keeffe. If your research brings up questions about how artists think about life and their art, I will be happy to introduce you to my sister.
Hi, Jerry--and thank you for the compliment. Yes, I'm a writer. You can see my work here: www.susanalbert.com. You can also find me on Goodreads. And thanks for the introduction to your sister's work.
All best,
Susan
