Olivia, do you mean "doublethink"? That was orwell's term for the willfull act of believing something you know to be untrue. Newspeak facillitates doublethink by making it verbally difficult- or dangerous- to speak the truth.
Although of course you're right, there's plenty of plain old double-talk in vogue these days, as well.
