I feel like elsewhere is heaven , and they are there living of course happier and with love!!
I've never read any of the sequels, but none of them mention Jonas or Gabe in the plot. Maybe they appear, I'm not sure, but they seem like very loosely connected stories.
Anyways many people read this in school in the early to late 1990s and there was no indication of a sequel. I got the feeling they died as well.
oh well , the movie is coming out , I hope it changes my point of view
Actually, Gabe and Jonas are a big part of the plot in Messenger and Son. Indirectly, Jonas is also mentioned in Gathering Blue.
