Scary Stories To Read In the Dark is a milestone of my childhood reading! Classic book. I tried Barker's Books of Blood and had a bit of a hard time with it. I might to try again with your suggestion. And I can't believe I didn't think of Lovecraft. I'll give that a shot as well.
